There are many different rules to many different people on what constitutes a great friendship. For some, it's being able to call their friend at 4am when they can't sleep. For others, it's being there at all the important events. Whatever it is that's important to you, it's important to them, and perhaps that's the key to maintaining a good friendship. We might disagree over little things, let each other down sometimes and not be there at the exact moment we're needed, but we always know how to make it up. We always understand. And it's that understanding that keeps us closer than ever.
Whether you live far away from your best friend, or are next-door neighbours; it doesn't make a difference to how close your friendship is. One of my best friends for example lives in London, and I know that whenever I have a problem, I can message her and she calms down all my irrational fears. The greatest tip I could give to you on any friendship is to never let distance come between you. If your best friend lives just around the corner, remember how lucky you are. If not, just remember, he or she is only ever one call away.
