We have to admit, for most of the Lookfantastic team it has definitely been a little while since our Proms and School Leavers' dances. Despite that, we still remember how fun it was to get ready and prep for them. There is nothing quite like deciding on your outfit, hair and makeup for a special occasion.
We thought we would take a little trip down memory lane and share some photos and tips from our own prom nights. Find out the things we loved about our proms and the advice we wish we'd known then!
Our Prom Advice

"Choose an SPF-free foundation for the night. It will stop your foundation looking white in the camera flashes (and yes, I wish I knew this at the time!)."
Try: Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation. There are loads of shades and it gives great coverage for a special occasion (and no flashback!).

"I was very pale in my Prom photos so my advice would be tan and tan well! Get a professional to do it if need be."
Try: James Read Sleep Mask Body Tan. Easy to buff on with a mitt before bed so you wake up with an even tan. It is a red carpet favourite!

"Do your nails to match your dress. It’ll make you smile and be a great talking point; everyone loves a good manicure!"
Try: Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow Nail Polish. Packed with gold glitter, this will leave your mani sparkling all night long.

"Not a beauty tip but it will help you enjoy the night: don’t wear a long dress if you want to dance, you’ll struggle! Same with strapless dresses; I’ve learnt my lesson!"
Try: Legology Sun-Lite Sheer Lingerie Tinted Leg Cream. Packed with subtle colour and shimmer, it will prep your legs for being on show in a shorter dress.

"The night before my prom I used a mixture containing sugar and honey on an old toothbrush to scrub my lips. It made it easier to apply my lipstick and to keep it on for the night."
Try: Bliss Fabulips Sugar Lip Scrub. It will buff away any dry skin and the Vanilla and Orange scent makes it an extra treat.
