We are big believers in the idea that feeling great helps you look your best. From your diet to exercise, it can all help your skin glow and body feel amazing. No-one is a better example of this than James Duigan and his wife Christiane and we're asking them for their best advice for living a healthy, happy life.

The Bio

James Duigan has been involved with the health and wellness industry for over a decade. He has worked as a personal trainer for celebrities like Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Elle Macpherson and has topped the bestsellers lists with his Clean & Lean Diet book.

From this, he has created the Bodyism brand, doing everything from exclusive personal training and gyms across the world, to body-boosting supplements that tie in with with the Clean & Lean principles.

Christiane Duigan

His wife Christiane has worked with James from the start, helping to create the best products and developing the Clean & Lean philosophy as a holistic wellbeing concept.

Together, both James and Christiane Duingan know almost everything there is to know about living a sustainable, healthy lifestyle.

The Tips

We caught up with James and Christine to ask their essential tips for living well and feeling healthy. This is what they had to say.

1. Don't diet.

Remember diets don't work; choose to be kind to yourself, find foods that work for you and look for things that make your life better and happier.  James Duigan

James is a big believer that food should nourish and excite you. This means not counting calories or restricting yourself from eating certain food groups, but instead looking at a diet packed with foods that make you feel healthy.

2. Be kind to yourself.

You deserve a happy, healthy life. James Duigan

The idea that underpins everything James and Christiane do is that happiness makes health easier. When you stress over whether you're doing things right, over the food you make, the stress hormones impact your body and make progress harder.

When you are kind to yourself and allow yourself pleasure, it makes it easier to make good decisions.

3. You are what you eat.

I believe that beauty comes from the inside. What you put in to your body in terms of diet reflects on the outside. Christiane Duigan

This is a fundamental part of the Clean and Lean philosophy; if you eat things that nourish the body, it shows. This even ties into their supplements; things like Collagen are known for their ability to support skin, hair and nails as well as joints so this is incorporated into the Beauty Food Supplement.

4. Get moving.

Your body is designed to move everyday; it loves to move everyday. James Duigan

Diet is never the be all and end all. Regular exercise helps your body work at its best. James and Christiane both advocate balance; not working your body so that it hurts and gets injured, but keeping it moving and finding exercise that works in your daily routine.

Major fan of scented candles, Make Up brushes and Highlighter. I’m always on the hunt for those Holy Grail products and my dressing table is covered in more beauty products than I like to admit. As an adopted Northerner originally from Brighton, I spend most my days wondering what all this rain is about. My hair isn’t grateful for the move. Currently loving: NIOD Photography Fluid
