Creating the perfect head of curls has been something I’ve longed to do for a while now. Unfortunately I simply don’t have the patience, and whenever I have mustered up the effort to give it a go, my curls have always dropped out within an hour, making it seem like a complete waste of time.
So, on a recent visit to thelookfantastic Worthing salon, I took the opportunity to ask my wonderful hairdresser, Sonia, to advise me on creating the perfect curl. Not only did she give some great advice, she also did a great demo, meaning I left the salon feel like I should be hitting the red carpet.

So, if like me you find it hard to get your head round the art of curling, here is what Sonia did to get my hair to a super-glam state.
After drying, my hair was divided up into sections, and each was spritzed with Sebastian Professional Shine Define, a light holding spray that infuses each strand of hair with plenty of shine.
She then used a ghd Gold Styler to create bouncy curls by placing a small section of hair between the straightners a couple of centimetres from the root, and then simply twisted the iron away from my head and slowly glided it down the length of the hair section. It takes a bit of getting used to, but after a couple of goes you’ll see the curls start to form.
