Beautifully Sensitive. Beautifully You.
Sensitive Skin is a lot more than just a skin type. It requires special attention and care, and can be frustrating to deal with at times. It is very misunderstood, but those who do suffer from it know very well how difficult it can be to find products which will not irritate your skin further. You can have sensitised skin regardless of your skin type, and it often includes symptoms such as very dry skin, skin that easily blushes, and skin which is prone to irritation and breakouts. By adopting a good skincare regime, as well as figuring out what works for you can actually help you achieve healthy skin. I have put together a few of my favourite products which are great for sensitive skins; helping to soothe and reduce your symptoms.
The beautiful blend of essential oils in the Elemis Cleansing Wash work together to to cleanse and moisturise your skin within seconds. The wash comprises of Oils of Thyme, German Chamomile and Ladies Mantle which, along with Milk Proteins, soothe as well as remove all impurities. It can also be used to shave your legs and underarms to give your body an overall healthy and smooth finish, without irritating the skin. Use a small amount with a hot flannel and lather with water to give your skin a rich yet gentle clean.
Foreo’s Luna for ultra sensitive skin works to gently deeply cleanse the skin, whilst also acting as an anti-ageing device. Gently removing all your makeup, dirt and impurities, the Luna helps to protect your sensitive skin while cleansing, to ensure that it remains at its healthiest. The device works by using T-Sonic technology to remove dead skin cells; allowing better absorption of other products to deeply nourish your skin. Use alongside your usual cleanser, and gently stroke upwards for 2 minutes. Another great feature of the Foreo Luna is that you do not need to replace the head with replacement brushes…Simply rinse with water and the device remains bacterial free!
This beautiful mask has been designed for sensitive skin which is also prone to redness and dryness. The Soothing Repair Mask not only helps to calm irritation but also delivers comfort and hydration, to leave your skin feeling soft and supple. It contains the Avène thermal spring water which is known for its healing and protecting properties; helping to improve micro-circulation to reduce redness, making it a perfect treat for those suffering from rosacea. Apply after cleansing for 10 minutes and then remove with a cotton pad to reveal refreshed and healthy looking skin.
Designed specifically with sensitive skin in mind, this beautiful Sukin Moisturiser has a host of ingredients to soothe and protect. Enriched with nourishing Aloe Vera and hydrating Rosehip, along with Sesame and Jojoba oils, the moisturiser calms your skin, while providing essential nutrients for a smooth and healthy complexion. A Shea Butter base allows quick absorption so that the product does not leave a residue on the surface of the skin. Use after the Skin Sensitive Cleanser on your face, neck and décolletage, for a radiant and healthy complexion.
As I mentioned earlier, sensitive skin can be managed with good skincare but you also have to make sure you look after any other conditions which may be triggering the sensitivity. Eczema, Rosacea, and sun damage can worsen symptoms. If you are wanting to change or start a new skincare routine then make sure you add one product at a time. This allows your skin to test its suitability to the product as well as highlight any potential ingredients which may not be suitable. If you have any questions about sensitive skin or would like to know more about any of the products then please email me at pharmacist@lookfantastic or you can tweet me @LFpharmacist.
