Winter hair saviours

As much an excuse to dig out your wellies and relive your puddle-stomping childhood, as it is to swap a gym session for a gift shopping spree or switch a slinky chemise for a chunky knit and cosy slippers – winter’s full of justifiable reasons but there’s no room for excuses where bad hair is concerned!

Granted, the extremities of winter do play havoc with your locks (don’t go blaming the cold, it’s the heated dry inside air too!) but pop these into your shopping basket and your only excuse for bad hair is … well I can’t think of one!

1. Kevin Murphy Maxi Wash £11.95kevin-murphy

Go and get your ends snipped off, (dry hair starts at the ends), then treat your hair to a detox. Wash out all your summer styling for a fresh start this winter. This herbal blend of lime, nint and eucalyptus removes excess oil and stimulates sluggish and sensitive scalps.

dr-haushka2. Dr. Hauschka Neem Hair Oil £20

Once a week fill your bathroom with tealights, play soft music (both optional) and keep a warm towel to hand (essential!). Massage this strengthening oil into your hair and scalp and then wrap around your towel relaxing for 20-30 minutes, longer for strong dry hair. It’s your very own home hair-spa treatment that discourages hair breakage while adding body and lustre, a valid excuse for some time out!

3. Kerastase Nectar Thermique £14.65kerastase

You wouldn’t let your skin face the extremes without some moisturising protection and it wouldn’t do you any harm to think the same about your hair. Before styling, massage some of this nourishing cream through the lengths and ends, paying particular attention to the driest areas. It’ll protect your hair fibres from the drying effects of styling, leaving you to breeze through the day with soft smooth and shiny style.

labelm4. Label.m Split End Sealer Compact £22.50

A superb finishing product to seal your winter style, this compact fits perfectly into your favourite clutch box. When your ends are proving they have a mind of their own dab a small amount onto your fingertips and take back control. The high shine finish puts back the focus on your healthy ‘do.

Three cheers for these winter hair saviours…HIP HIP…
