Beautiful nails with Essie
Mademoiselle Essie Weingarten, straight out of her dance class and ballet slippers, loved to get her nails done in the beauty parlour with her mum. Bordeaux with the limited choice of nail colours available, she launched her first 12-piece collection in Las Vegas years later. A French Affair with nail polish led to her hi-maintenance approach to her own brand – making it one of the best in the industry. Whether you’re holidaying in Sand Tropez or Chinchilly in the mountains, there’s a nail colour waiting to turn your nails into A-List worthy beauties! There are even colours to take you from your Bachelorette Bash to your wedding, turning you into a Lady Like bride with something Borrowed and Blue! So whether you’re a Bahama Mama, or Demure Vixen, you will find a Sole Mate in one of Essie’s many colours! So put on your Really Red lipstick, and have a Fiesta with this Wicked brand!
With a penchant for nail polish, Essie Weingarten has taken her brand from strength to strength. Now owned by the larger L’Oréal group, Essie still sits as President on the board, carefully choosing nail colours to reflect what women want. Her motto? ‘Dream, Desire, Demand…Your colour wish is my demand.’ We LOVE her! With a limited 6 polishes per collection, they have to be special to make the cut. So when you buy an Essie Nail Varnish, you are buying months of inspiration, research, testing, alongside a very carefully (and sometimes naughtily!) chosen name, not just a nail varnish with a number!
Essie believes that your nails are an extension of you and can ‘take any old outfit and make it new!’ We couldn’t agree more – when your nails are perfectly lacquered and glossy, you feel a million dollars. With a (literal) rainbow of colours, you can choose the perfect colour for you and try out new shades you might have thought you wouldn’t like, but would look incredible!
Coco Chanel once said, ‘Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman,’ and after all, we have to admit…‘You’re never fully dressed without a good manicure.’
1989 – The hairdresser to Queen Elizabeth sent a letter to Essie Headquarters requesting the nail varnish in colour ‘Ballet Slippers’ – the only colour Her Majesty would wear! If it’s good enough for The Queen, then it is given our seal of approval!
2011 – Essie’s Allure from the Sheer Beige collection is chosen by Princess Catherine Middleton – another Royal Seal of approval!
2015 – Rebecca Minkoff joins the team as Global Colour Designer – we cannot wait to get our hands on this collection!
