Jelly moisturisers are set to become seriously popular this summer thanks to their lightweight yet amazing hydrating properties. Lighter in texture and feel than a regular cream, they are perfect for all skin types, but work especially well on oily and cominbation complexions during the warmer months.

A lot of Japanese and Korean skincare brands are leading the way with their innovative technologies, but American and European brands are catching up, and this season is tipped to be the hottest yet as the competition heats up.

Which are the best jelly moisturisers?

Shiseido WASO Clear Mega Hydrating Cream

A gorgeously soft and lightweight jelly moisturiser, the Shiseido WASO Clear Mega Hydrating Cream leaves the skin full of moisture and feeling super soft. Made with a blend of natural botanicals, and the amazing Japanese skincare technology, the jelly-like cream immediately absorbs into the skin without feeling sticky or heavy.

Key ingredients include carrot cells, which have high water and Vitamin A content for plumped-up and yoythful skin, alongside the brand's unique PhytoResist System+, which helps to shield the skin against damaging environmental aggressors.

J.One Jelly Pack

You can't read a single magazine without looking straight at the J.One Jelly Pack recently. Hailing straight from Korea, this multi-purpose primer also helps to seriously hydrate, smooth and life the skin. Infused with hyaluronic acid, chamomile flower water and Fullerene (an extremely powerful antioxidant), this primer is more like a lightweight face mask, keeping all the moisture in whilst ensuring your makeup stays looking perfect.

GLAMGLOW Waterburst Moisturiser

GLAMGLOW's Waterburst Hydrated Glow Moisturiser is a weightless jelly-like gel cream that leaves skin super smooth, soft and radiant. Made with a unique triple hyaluronic acid complex, alongside water from the island of Jeju and Blue Nymph Lily Extract to quench the skin's thirst and leave it plumped-up and glowing.

Make sure you head over to our Facebook page to discover more about why we love this super hydrating moisturiser for the warmer months.

Dermalogica Calm Water Gel

One of Dermalogica's newest launches is the Calm Water Gel, which has a jelly-like consistency to seriously hydrate the skin. Made with dual hyaluronic technology, the gel melts into the skin and helps to shield the skin against those environmental aggressors which cause sensitivity.

It's enriched with apple fruit extract and glycerin to combat dehydration and leave the skin feeling comfortable, soft and smooth. We love to wear it underneath our regular moisturiser, but if you don't suffer from dry skin, you can use this as your only hydration product.

Darphin Vetiver Mask

Darphin's Vetiver Mask is perhaps one of the most Instagrammable launches of 2018. Made with a blend of floral botanicals including geranium, french lavender and vetiver, the jelly mask melts into the skin to calm any stressed-out areas and leave it feeling calm, under control and nourished.

We love to leave it on for around 10-15 minutes as it has the most amazing and therapeutic aroma from all the essential oils. which helps us to unwind after a long day. Once you're ready to rinse, apply a little water to the skin as it transforms the gel into a milky consistency which is easy to rinse away.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Water Gel is a great affordable jelly moisturiser if you want all the hydration without the price tag. It has a unique hyaluronic gel matrix, which locks in moisture and keeps it in your skin cells for all-day comfort.

It has a lightweight and fresh scent, perfect for sensitive skin types and noses which don't like a heavy fragrance, while its oil-free formula works well on blemish-prone and combination complexions.

Murad Nutrient-Charged Water Gel

Another new product this year is the Murad Nutrient Charged Water Gel. Made with a blend of anti-ageing peptides, vitamins and minerals, this is one of the best jelly moisturisers we have tried. It immediately alleviates dryness upon contact with the skin, and leaves the skin feeling moisturised throughout the day for a comfortable feel under makeup.

Free from chemical nasties like parabens and sulphates, it's a really great breathable formula suitable for all skin types, but we think it's especially great for more mature complexions which need an extra burst of moisture.
