During the winter months, skin can look a little tired and pale, which is where one of our favourite glow boosters comes in. The Fake Bake Coconut Tanning Serum not only smells totally tropical to combat winter blues, but leaves skin with a healthy and golden luminosity.

This product made it into our Beauty Discoveries as it can be used on the both the face and body (so is great to use when you need to get tanned quickly!) and thanks to its divine scent, we feel uplifted and energised.

What makes the Fake Bake Coconut Tanning Serum Special?

This unique self-tan not only has a gorgeous scent, completely eliminating the traditional biscuit smell of fake tans, but is enriched with a host of skin-beneficial ingredients to aid moisture retention.

  • Hyaluronic Acid - Able to hold 1000 times its own weight in water, this moisturising agent helps to keep the tan locked in for longer and prevent peeling and cracking on the skin, so your golden glow looks completely natural and flawless.
  • Coconut Oil - This helps to give the Coconut Tanning Serum its gorgeous scent, but also has some incredible skincare benefits too. It deeply hydrates, moisturises and soothes irritated skin, so any redness and blotchy patches are reduced.
  • Silk Amino Acids - The antioxidant properties of silk amino acids help to keep the skin healthy and free from signs of ageing such as wrinkles and fine lines.

How to apply the Fake Bake Coconut Tanning Serum

James Harknett, Global Creative Consultant at Fake Bake, provides his top tips to achieve the perfect party glow this fairytale festive season!

Step 1

Remove any older self-tan with a deep exfoliation. Having a smooth clear base is crucial for the tan to cling evenly to the body. This also removes any traces of oil or wax that could still be lingering, especially on the legs.

Step 2

Apply a pea size amount of oil free moisturiser to backs of ankles, knees, elbows, wrists and hands. Not over the whole body! This would streak the tan.

Step 3

Apply the Flawless Coconut Tanning Serum using the gloves provided,  starting with your feet and working your way up to your face.  You do this so no lines are created in your tan during application.  A little goes a long way with the serum,  apply in circular motions to really help it to absorb deeply into the skin. The serum creates a deep golden hue therefore I suggest mixing it with your moisturiser when applying to the face. This gives it a slightly lighter development colour, which means once you apply your foundation you will achieve a balanced all over skin tone.

How to prolong your tan:

Avoid having any bathes as the hot water can break down your tan quicker. Take warm showers and press dry the skin. Moisturise twice a day and sprinkle a little talc in your sports bra and trainers if you are exercising.

Top tips for those pesky orange patches:

Ever woken up in the guide colour and discovered stained palms and build up around wrists? Don't reach for the exfoliator straight away. First thing to do is soak your hands in warm/hot water, this will help start to lift the product. Then work in a salt scrub, this will start to fade the excess colour around the wrist area. Then use a makeup remover wipe over the palms and around the wrist. Finish with a further rinse with a hand soap.
