It's the time of year when everything goes a little bit darker; the nights, the outfits and of course, the makeup. Do you love a little bit of drama and a touch of darkness? Then Vampy Chic is the #WickedlyWearable Halloween look for you. Find out how to try it yourself with our edit of the vampiest makeup around.

The Vampy Chic Look

This is all about the light and dark; a little bit of shadow and a little bit of shine. Deep berry lips, shimmering smoky eyes and softly contoured cheeks is the way to do vampy.

You can shop the look and get 10% off with the code WICKED; find out our favourite Vampy Chic products below.

The Lips

The focus of this look has to be a rich, deep berry lip.

We love taking the advice of NARS makeup artist Anna Priadka and mixing up the textures of our lipstick for a fresh take on a dark lip.

Try a more sheer, juicy berry lip like Illamasqua's Glamore Lipstick in Vampette first, then in just the centre of the lip, add an opaque, matte shade like the Illamasqua Matte Lip Liquid in Exoskeleton. The finished look is modern and just a little bit sultry.

The Eyes

For a true vampy look, you need to go heavy on the eyes. However, this is a smoky eye with a difference. Rather than just doing the dark tones, make sure you get a touch of light with shimmers, glitters and golds.

The rich tones add life and stop it all looking too Morticia Adams; this is #WickedlyWearable after all. Try shadows like those in the Illamasqua Demise Palette for the perfect mix of subtle shimmers and rich smokes; the warm berry tone will pick out the colour on your lips.

The Base

A subtle touch of colour and contour is essential for keeping this look wearable; the heavy eyes and lips can make your face look mask-like and one-dimensional.

Keep life in your complexion by sweeping some contour along the cheekbones and blending out. We love the Illamasqua Gel Sculpt for the most natural shadow.

Major fan of scented candles, Make Up brushes and Highlighter. I’m always on the hunt for those Holy Grail products and my dressing table is covered in more beauty products than I like to admit. As an adopted Northerner originally from Brighton, I spend most my days wondering what all this rain is about. My hair isn’t grateful for the move. Currently loving: NIOD Photography Fluid
