L’Oréal Professionnel Serioxyl Kit for Coloured Hair

L’Oréal Professionnel Serioxyl Kit for Coloured Hair

I’ve found one of the hardest things about my hair is finding products which work with all of my hair’s needs. I want the volume and thickness of my hair to be boosted at the same time as protecting my colour, so I was really happy to put the L’Oréal Professionnel Serioxyl Kit 2 For Coloured Thinning Hair to the test.

What is my hair type?

What does the L’Oréal Serioxyl range aim to do?

Simply put, the Serioyxl range works top combat thinning hair by plumping existing hair to make it look fuller, as well as strengthening it to reduce shedding. It also encourages the growth of new hair to achieve a thicker look. This particular kit also works on coloured hair to reduce fading and maintaining vibrancy – it almost sounds too good to be true!

Here’s the scientific bit: the kit contains the most stimulating, re-densifying and strengthening ingredients on the market to help you achieve fuller looking hair, including: Stemoxtdine Star Ingredient (the first hair-revealing molecule), Neohesperidin (protects against oxidative stress), Intra-Cylane (instantly thickens strands for fuller effect), Incell (strengthens fibres) and Glucoboost (fixes onto fibre to build dense, stronger hair).

My Review

I had high hopes for this range as it is one of the originals in terms of addressing hair thinning. Even though the high-tech appearance and feel was a departure from what I am used to I felt confident that the L’Oréal Professionnel name was one I could trust.

The kit contains a Shampoo, Conditioner and Mousse, so it includes everything you need from care to styling.

  1. L'Oréal Professionnel Serioxyl Thickening Shampoo

On first impressions the shampoo was much runnier than I expected, especially for a thickening product.

I did however find that it lathered well (though lather and colour don’t usually go together well) and my hair was left feeling thoroughly cleansed.

I also found that the texture of my hair was much thicker (though a little tangled), and it definitely had a fuller look, which was fabulous.

  2. L'Oréal Professionnel Serioxyl Thickening Conditioner

In my experience of testing out hair products for hair thinning I have always found that it is the conditioner that usually lets the range down.

I am happy to report however that this was not the case here! If anything this conditioner gave my hair even more volume and density. Overall I was really pleased with how my hair felt cared for and volumised after use.

  3. L'Oréal Professionnel Serioxyl Aqua Mousse

Now on to my favourite product in the range. If it wasn’t enough that the shampoo and conditioner offered amazing fullness to my hair, this mousse is the cherry on top!

On first appearances again the foam was a little thin, however once styled my roots were incredibly lifted and volumised. I felt a bounce and thickness to my hair that I hadn’t felt before and was absolutely delighted with the results.
