Beauty Essentials for Fashion Week

To celebrate London Fashion Week 2016, we have put together the official Lookfantastic Beauty Guide to keep your skin glowing and your makeup on trend in time for spring.

With many designers opting for natural and radiant skin, romantic makeup looks and defined brows, there has never been a better time to detox your skin and try a new beauty trend. Of course, as we are celebrating London Fashion Week, we cannot forget a splash of colour to keep things vibrant and beautiful!

Glowing Skin

Expect naturally luminous skin to come strutting down the catwalks for Spring 2016. While this can seem daunting, your skin simply needs a little pick-me-up to get it fresh and glowing in no time at all. Origins has it covered for glowing skin with their GinZing Moisturiser (£24.00) and Scrub (£18.50), alongside their infamous Original Skin Serum (£32.00) and Mask (£23.00).

When it comes to achieving that perfect complexion, the eyes can often be overlooked, but they are just as important in helping to give a lovely glow. Tired and puffy eyes can render even the most luminous skin dull, so make sure you hydrate them to help keep them bright and awake. Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream (£20.00) contains a blend of Coffee and Magnolia Extracts to de-puff and leave eyes looking smoother and more youthful.

Together, these little miracles will help perk up tired skin and refresh your complexion to leave it glowing and radiant.

Romantic Make Up

Pretty and girly makeup looks are seriously hot for spring 2016, so make sure you top up on these essentials to achieve the most romantic of looks. If you love Estée Lauder’s Double Wear (£30.00), then try their Double Wear Light (£30.00) which still has an incredible 15 hours wear, but provides lightweight coverage for a healthy and radiant complexion. With added protection from environmental aggressors and UV rays, it is the perfect base for springtime beauty and will help give a beautiful finish to your skin. Head over to our previous article to discover how to achieve the ‘Romantic’ beauty trend, exclusively with Estée Lauder.

Lips are one of the best ways to showcase the Romantic makeup look this spring. With a beautiful array of pink lipsticks across Lookfantastic, we have everything you need to make that pout pop. Clinique’s Chubby Stick in Budding Blossom (£17.00) is a delicate pink which will leave your lips looking beautiful. Its hydrating properties will also ensure that they stay hydrated throughout the day so they look catwalk ready at any time!

Bronzed and beautiful

Another key beauty trend for spring 2016 is beautifully bronzed, and what better way to celebrate London Fashion Week than with one of our favourite London brands, Rimmel. Their Sun Bronze Bronzer (£5.99) gives a gorgeous sun kissed glow; adding natural warmth to your skin. With added SPF and UVA/UVB protection; it is the perfect choice to keep skin protected and beautiful.

#LFBEAUTYTIP – If you have naturally pale skin, then be sure to swirl your brush in the bronzer and dust off excess until it looks like there is hardly any product left on the brush. This will allow you to add a little more should you need it without the fear of it looking too dark for your complexion.

Luscious Lashes

As makeup trends look set to be more understated this spring; big lashes are a must to define your eyes and lift your look. Make sure to curl your lashes before applying mascara to give them great lift and volume.

We love Japonesque’s Detail Eyelash Curler (£6.40) which gives us a perfect curl every time. Finish with a coat of Roller Lash by Benefit (£19.50) which has incredible lifting power, and a beautiful dark colour to define each lash.

Perfect Brows

As with lashes, perfectly manicured brows are essential for London Fashion Week. When the rest of your makeup looks understated, well-defined lashes and brows make your eyes stand out.

My top tip is to use Lancôme’s Le Crayon (£17.00) in the shade closest to your natural brow colour, and carefully comb your brows through. Then, taking the pencil end, and using light, wisp strokes, stroke it through until you have an even colour throughout; focussing on areas with missing gaps. Taking the brush once more, comb out excess product and your brows will be beautiful!

Fashion Hairstyle

Loose and wavy curls are dominating spring beauty trends for 2016, so don’t forget to keep your hair in check to look runway ready. Bumble and Bumble’s exclusive Hairdresser’s Travel Kit (£16.00) will keep your hair smooth, tame fly-away’s and make it smell oh so beautiful! The kit contains travel sizes of their infamous Invisible Oil Shampoo (£7.50) & Conditioner (£8.50) and Primer (£20.50), the set will keep your hair in check throughout Fashion Week and beyond.

#LFTIP – Don’t forget that plaits are coming into fashion this spring so style your hair one day, sleep in the style, and then take it out the day after for gorgeous, loose curls.

And for that splash of colour….

Colour can be difficult to replicate coming off the catwalks, especially when its in the form of bright blue eye-shadow. Here at Lookfantastic, we think you can replicate the colour on the runways with small and simple touches to introduce you to new trends. We love Essie’s Strut your Stuff (£10.95) which is a bright hue of blue to make your nails pop, and let’s face it, has the perfect name to celebrate London Fashion Week.

I am a big believer in the idea that beautiful Make Up begins with a superb skincare regime. I like to enhance my natural beauty rather than cover up and I am always on the lookout for great products which really work. When I am not writing about all things beauty, I like to do Yoga and I make an amazing brownie. It is all about balance!
