Sheet masks. We reckon they might just be our favourite skincare treat! They are everywhere right now so we're filling you in on the trend and the masks you need to try.

What are Sheet Masks?

Rather than traditional face masks, which are often targeted at clarifying and exfoliating, sheet masks are all about the hydration. Instead of a gel or a cream, the mask is made of paper, fabric or hydrogel and infused with intensive serums that can absorb into your skin. Just lay it over your face and enjoy for 15 minutes.

The benefits of a sheet mask are that they deliver concentrated skincare ingredients to your skin in a really short space of time. They are ideal when you travel, thanks to their compact, hygienic packaging and the fact that you don't need to wash them off; just pat the remaining serum into your skin.

It has become a celebrity secret to wear a sheet mask on the plane so they can arrive fresh-faced and glowing. They have become an essential for us too, in those busy weeks or when the office air con feels far too drying.

There are now lots of different types of sheet masks around, which do everything from clarifying the skin to brightening and evening out skin tone. If you haven't tried out the trend yet, then these are the masks we'd recommend.

5 of the Best

1.

Lancer Skincare Lift & Plump Sheet Mask

This is the way to get that beautiful celebrity glow, from the comfort of your own home. These masks, new from Lancer Skincare, are the exact ones that Dr. Harold Lancer uses for his Red Carpet Flash Facial at his exclusive dermatology clinic in Los Angeles. With Apple Stem Cell, Rose Water and Centella Asiatica Extracts, this is perfect for helping to tighten and refresh the skin. Your skin will feel soft, supple and lifted.
2.

DECLÉOR Aurabsolu Hydrogel Mask

If your skin is feeling dull and tired, this is the mask for you. Infused with Jasmine Absolute and a blend of nourishing essential oils, this smells incredible whilst helping to revitalise the skin. This is ideal to use whenever you are feeling tired or stressed, to restore the skin. Your skin will look revitalised and refreshed in a flash.
3.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery PowerFoil Mask

This is the newest sheet mask release and it is taking the beauty world by storm. Instead of just a sheet of cotton or paper, this is backed with a foil. The idea is that it locks in the treatment, essentially force-feeding the skin all of the nutrients and celebrities like Victoria Beckham and Joan Smalls are already big fans. Part of the bestselling Advanced Night Repair range, it uses the same powerful ChronoluxCB technology that is exclusive to the range and contains double the Hyaluronic Acid. Smooth, plump and hydrated skin in 10 minutes? Yes please.
4.

Skin Republic Brightening Vitamin C Face Mask

One of our newest brands to launch on Lookfantastic, the Skin Republic masks are the perfect way to try out the trend. The Brightening mask is one of our favourites thanks to the skin-loving ingredients like Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Liquorice and Rosa Centifolia. The serum absorbs deeply into the skin, helping to tighten and brighten at the same time as hydrating the skin. It gives you a big boost of vitamins and antioxidants to the skin and is brilliant for evening out the skin tone for a bright, youthful finish.
5.

Shiseido Benefiance Pure Retinol Intensive Revitalizing Face Mask

Shisheido are one of our go-to brands for skincare trends as they are always at the forefront of any skincare innovation. This sheet mask is one of their bestselling products and it is no surprise at all. For anyone looking to fight the signs of aging whilst hydrating the skin, this is the mask for you. Retinol, or Vitamin A, is known for its ability to help fade dark marks, boost collagen production, interrupt the damage that causes wrinkles and smooth the skin texture. It is a beauty wonder ingredient and this mask is the ideal way to use it in your skincare routine. The only thing to note is that Retinol can increase your sensitivity to the sun, so be sure to use this at night or apply a great SPF.

Major fan of scented candles, Make Up brushes and Highlighter. I’m always on the hunt for those Holy Grail products and my dressing table is covered in more beauty products than I like to admit. As an adopted Northerner originally from Brighton, I spend most my days wondering what all this rain is about. My hair isn’t grateful for the move. Currently loving: NIOD Photography Fluid
