It can be easy to stick to soft neutrals and nudes in your makeup and whilst we will never be parted from our subtle shimmer shadows, sometimes it can be fun to add a pop of colour into our look.

There is no better time to embrace the bright side than Summer time, so here are a few products and tips to help you liven up your everyday makeup.

Bright Lipstick

Oscar De La Renta Red Lip

A bold bright lip is one of the easiest ways to play with colour in your everyday makeup look. Just apply your usual base and eye makeup before slicking on some bright lipstick.

This season, bold matte red lips are the way to go. We saw it used as the accent colour all over the catwalk in shows like Oscar De La Renta and love how classic it is.

Monique Lhuillier Coloured Eyeliner

Neutral shadows and black liners are the usual for most of us but this Summer, bright, bolder hues are everywhere. Aqua shades of blue and teal look incredible on the lids, paired with bronzed skin.

If you aren't feeling brave enough for a full lid, why not switch out your liner for a coloured liner, a la Monique Lhuillier's emerald green flicks? It is a subtler way to try out colour.

Our Favourite Bold Eye Makeup:

Pigmented Blush

Simone Rocha Vibrant Blush

It can be easy to stick with bronzers in Summertime but a richly pigmented blush, high on the cheekbones gives a youthful, fresh look to your makeup. We loved the look at Simone Rocha, especially paired with minimal eye makeup.

To try it yourself, sweep blush in shades of pink, coral or orange from the apples of your cheeks to your cheekbones.

Major fan of scented candles, Make Up brushes and Highlighter. I’m always on the hunt for those Holy Grail products and my dressing table is covered in more beauty products than I like to admit. As an adopted Northerner originally from Brighton, I spend most my days wondering what all this rain is about. My hair isn’t grateful for the move. Currently loving: NIOD Photography Fluid
