The Best Fashion Buys for Summer 2016

5 Fashion Trends Summer 2016

High Waisted Bikinis

The itsy-bitsy swimsuit is no more – this year, it’s all about the high waisted bikini. Great for all body shapes, vintage inspired cuts will elongate your legs, hide any problem areas and nip in your waist, defining your curves and streamlining your silhouette.

I love: This beautiful crotchet wonder from Mara Hoffman is the perfect bohemian twist on a vintage classic.

All White

Haven’t you heard? White is the new black. Wave goodbye to your dark and moody wardrobe staples and choose bright and breezy pieces in snowy hues. Added bonus? White looks beautiful in the sunshine and even more so against a golden, sun-kissed glow.

I love: The minimal lines of the Karl Largerfeld Bow Tunic are so chic and work perfectly for bringing the Summer to the office. For a more bohemian feel, the bell sleeves on this C/MEO COLLECTIVE dress are gorgeous.

Slide Sandals

Once upon a time, slide sandals were the ultimate fashion faux pas – but now, they’re back with a bang. Perfect for chilling poolside or strolling along the seafront, pair your sliders with frayed denim cutoffs and an oversized boyfriend shirt for a laid-back luxury look.

I love: The classic Arizona from Birkenstock is a great option. They come in so many colours, plus they are ridiculously comfortable. Comfort and style all in one!

Beach to Bar

Who has time to change after a day at the beach? Not us. This summer, it’s time to rock swimsuits as bodies: throw on a boho maxi skirt over the top and accessorise with some statement jewels for instant night-out glam.

I love: These 2 swimming costumes from Mara Hoffman are so beautiful it would be a shame not to wear them for more than just a beach! I love the long sleeves and ruffles for making them look perfect for the cocktail bar.

Nautical But Nice

Even if you’re not jet-setting abroad this season, you can still pretend: nautical-inspired stripes are always one of the hottest summer trends and this year is no exception. Go head-to-toe sailor with a pinstripe dress, or get beachy in the office with a stripe shirt tucked into a pencil skirt.

I love: The comfy-cool feel of this tie waist Gestuz dress are perfect for on holiday but the sleek lines of the Baum und Pferdgarten stripe shirt is a great day to get the look in your everyday style.

Thank you so much to Lily for all the tips. Don’t forget to check out more fashion and style advice over on The Hut’s blog.
