It would be nice to have hours to get ready for parties this winter in the same way we all did at school or uni, experimenting with our mates' Estee Lauder and Clarins make-up and having a giggle, but the reality is that many of us are still working two or three hours before we have to be there - what's a girl to do?
Kirsty Jewson, beauty guru for Saks, told us that it need not be a blind panic - as long as we prepare with some instant fix make-up.
Firstly, use good quality powder to mattify the skin and then sweep highlighter over the face for a glowing look, she advised.
Next, get rid of any tell-tale I've-been-staring-at-a-computer-all-day eye bags using concealer dabbed under the eyes with your ring finger.
"Quickly stick on some false eyelashes to intensify the eyes and finish with an application of lip gloss," Kirsty concluded.
