Blogger Of The Week #3

Hey everyone! I’m Victoria and I have been writing my beauty and fashion blog,, for the past 6 months. I am so pleased to be the LookFantastic blogger of the week, so hopefully I can give you a little insight into my blog and the blogging world.

I started blogging in October 2012 after becoming obsessed with reading beauty blogs and watching beauty tutorials for the 6 months previous. Blogs were never something I read before and I had no idea how big the blogging and youtube community actually was, but after stumbling across a tutorial on Youtube one day, I became hooked. It was after a few months that I started to wish that I was the person sharing my tips and ideas on fashion and beauty, so after a month or so of thinking about it, I finally took the plunge and designed In the Frow. If you’re a magazine reader you may have come across the term Frow, short for Front Row. A lot of people don’t quite get it, yet I prefer to have a name that is slightly unique, especially in such a saturated blogging world. My Tumblr was always named ‘I’m in the Front Row with Popcorn,’ which are lyrics from one of my favorite Alanis Morissette songs, so In the Frow was the shortened and fashion relevant form of that.

Over the past 6 months, my collection of beauty products have probably grown by 100%. I love to try out new, cult and classic products on my blog to give my opinion to any beauty lovers. But then I also like to post fashion styling posts and outfits of the day and evening, as fashion is my first true love really. My most loved products at the moment would probably be my collection of hair products, as with having pink hair for the last year, I like to make sure it is in the best condition and styled each day. My ghd candy styler is a must have for creating bouncy curls, the ghd volume foam or Bumble and Bumble texture creme are god sends for creating texture and the Wella SP Luxe Oil is the most gorgeous hair oil for softening and taming. Aside from hair products though, I would say that blogging has helped me find some amazing beauty gems. The range of Real Techniques brushes are the best tools to apply foundation, bronzer and blusher and the Nars Laguna bronzer is by far my favourite bronzer to date. There is no finish more flawless than the Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation and no other mascara makes your eyes pop more than the Benefit Theyre Real Mascara. My most recent love though is definitely the gorgeous neon pink nail varnish from Red Carpet Queen, Diva Mayday.

If I had to choose my top five products that I would recommend you put straight into your LookFantastic bags, it would definitely be these…

First of all, the ghd candy stylers.

The perfect rounded barrel for gorgeous curls and in the prettiest colours. It always makes me happy to use them and they do a brilliant job every time.

The Wella SP Luxe Oil.

My hair does not feel great if I havent applied this before I dry it. It smooths and softens the ends of the hair beautifully and is definitely one of the best hair products on the market. I definitely couldn’t be without this now.

The Real Techniques Core Collection brushes.

Until I found this set, my makeup application just wasn’t the same. These brushes really buff and smooth makeup into the skin leaving it so flawless. I could not recommend these more for the fantastic price they are.

Red Carpet Queen in Diva Mayday.

My favourite nail colour I have ever found, and that is saying something. It is a gorgeous bright neon orange pink that makes me happy every time I look at my hands. I just love it.

Benefit They’re Real Mascara.

It received a lot of hype when it was released, but rightly so. This mascara does not budge when applied and really separates and combs each and every lash. This is a real gem. Do not buy another mascara until you have tried this.

blogger-image-564184506A lot of people ask me about my pink hair and its condition and as a blogger my biggest tips would be for haircare. If you want to bleach your hair, ask your hairdresser to use a lower bleach if it is possible. Never bleach a piece of hair more than once as it will be more prone to snapping and breaking. If you need to get your roots dyed, only dye the roots and try not to touch the rest of the already bleached hair. Then, use a haircare routine that is appropriate for your hair type. I use volumising products as I want lots of volume and bounce, a heat protector spray to protect against the hair dryer, and as I’ve mentioned, I apply the Wella hair oil to the ends of my hair to soften. It is a routine I always stick to and my hair is in much better condition because of it.

For anyone who is thinking of starting a blog, I say go for it. If you have the time to put into it and you think you can share something new with your own take on it, then there will be many people out there who will want to read it. Blogging was one of the best things I started, my only regret is that I didn’t start sooner. Be inspired, have fun and do it your way.

Major fan of scented candles, Make Up brushes and Highlighter. I’m always on the hunt for those Holy Grail products and my dressing table is covered in more beauty products than I like to admit. As an adopted Northerner originally from Brighton, I spend most my days wondering what all this rain is about. My hair isn’t grateful for the move. Currently loving: NIOD Photography Fluid
