Festival season is calling as is the age old dilemma of what to wear! Whether you want to rock a traditional festival look (flower crown, anyone?), or go for something a little more chic and under stated, we’ve rounded up our favourite festival hairstyles of 2016 (so far) that should serve as inspiration!
The Bleached One
If you fancy a change and the idea of bleaching your hair doesn’t make you recoil in horror, then why not embrace the blonde like Taylor? Not only has she lightened her locks to a white-blonde but she’s chopped off a few inches to create a chic and modern bob. Pair it with a bold lip and you’ll be turning heads this Summer!
The Boho One
Nothing says festival hair more than a textured wave and a good hair accessory! Vanessa Hudgens rocks the boho look perfectly with statement voluminous curls that tumble past her shoulders. She teams it with a gorgeous dream catcher headband for a gorgeous festival look. The feathers and beads bring the perfect ‘coachella’ vibe to the hair and really allow the accessory to do the talking.
The Braided One
This was probably the stand out hairstyle of Coachella this year, and there’s no doubting why. A French braid is always a winner for festival season as it keeps you cool by keeping your hair off your face but it’s also great for longevity. After a day or two when you feel like changing it up simply undo the braids and you’ll have lovely wavy mermaid hair. Kylie’s use of pastel colours is also a way to ensure you stand out from the crowd whilst staying on trend.
The Fun One
Everyone’s favourite 90’s throwback is the perfect choice for your festival hairstyle. The ‘Fun Buns’ are again ideal for keeping you cool and for styling unkempt hair into submission. Not only are they extremely cute but even hair novices can manage them. We love the idea of using glitter on your parting too for a sparkly and very festival-worthy twist.
The Low Maintenance One
If you’re after a no-fuss hair style which looks effortless then the head scarf is for you. Not only can any hair type rock them but they’re the perfect multi-tasking accessory. Getting a bit chilly? No problem, cover up with your head scarf. Need something to sit on? No problem, use your head scarf as a blanket. Need to revive third day hair whilst staying stylish? No problem, the head scarf covers up a multitude of hair problems! The possibilities are endless…
