AHA’s and BHA’s

AHA’s and BHA’s

AHA’s and BHA’s are exfoliants which help to smooth out wrinkles, even skin tone, improve overall skin clarity and bring radiant skin to light! They are both types of acid: AHA’s (alpha-hydroxy acids) are glycolic and lactic acids, whereas an example of a BHA (beta-hydroxy acid) is salicylic acid. Both help to build collagen and exfoliate the surface layers of the skin, but which one you should use depends on your skin type. If you have normal to dry skin, then AHA’s are best as they help skin to retain moisture and normalize the firmness and texture. If however your skin tends to be normal to oily, then BHA’s are best as they help to reduce breakouts and refine pore size, whilst calming down any redness. Paula’s Choice has an excellent range of both AHA and BHA exfoliants to help your skin recover and repair itself.
