Natural Birthing Company's Midwife in a Box Gift Set combines a host of natural oil formulas to help you look after yourself during pregnancy and after labour. The essential oil blends have been specially developed by caring midwives.

Bosom Buddies Oil (3 x 10ml):
"Ooh!" for Engorged Breasts - specially created to help relieve the discomfort of tender, swollen breasts. The oil blend combines Geranium with Peppermint, Cyprus and German Chamomile to help you feel more comfortable. Add a few drops to water and use a flannel for a relieving compress.
"Aah!" for Low Milk Supply - breastfeeding is a supply and demand process; the more you do it, the more milk you produce. Combining Fennel, Lemongrass and Mandarin, this special blend can be used in conjunction with offering your baby the breast more frequently to help enhance your milk supply.
"Ouch!" for Sore Nipples - a blend of Lavender, Neroli, Mandarin, Frankincense and Peppermint that works to relieve and moisturise sore, irritated nipples. Combined with correct positioning, it helps to promote a more enjoyable breastfeeding experience.
Pure Bliss Soothing Post-Natal Compress Solution (50ml):
A postnatal compress solution that works to calm and relieve feelings of discomfort in your intimate area after child birth. The award-winning blend of Hypericum and Calendula can be used straight after labour, and is suitable for use on stitches, tears, haemorrhoids and general intimate discomfort, including caesarean sections wounds. The calming formula promotes natural healing and helps to comfort your delicate area after birth.
Down Below Perineal Massage Oil (50ml):
A safe and 100% natural oil formula that can be used during perineal massage to help increase elasticity 'down below'. Perineal massage is recommended from 34 weeks of pregnancy to help prepare for labour; the massaging action helps to gently stretch skin and increase elasticity of perineal muscles to reduce the risk of tearing or episiotomy (needing a cut) during labour. Blending Rosehip, Apricot, Calendula and Evening Primrose Oils, the relaxing formula helps to prepare your intimate area for child birth, and also doubles as a body massage oil; it moisturises skin and may reduce the appearance of stretch marks during and after pregnancy.
Cool It Mama Body and Facial Spritz (100ml):
An uplifting aromatherapy spray that helps to combat feelings of tiredness, nausea and hot flushes during pregnancy. Promoting a happy, stress-free pregnancy, the light formula combines pure essential oils of Orange Blossom, Ylang Ylang, Bergamot and Grapefruit with a touch of Menthol to instantly cool and refresh your face and body. Whether you're having hot flushes or suffering from heavy legs and swollen ankles, the versatile mist works to revive the body and mind, revitalising your spirits to leave you feeling calm, cool and happy. Perfect for popping in your handbag, it's the safe and practical solution to some of pregnancy's wonderful side effects. Can even be used during labour to help keep you cool and inspire feelings of calm.
Bosom Buddies Oil: Add 2-3 drops of your selected oil to a bowl of hot or cold water (your preference) and mix to disperse. Wet the flannels by submerging them into the water and apply one directly to each breast. Cover yourself with a nice warm towel and lie back to relax for up to 30mins. If you can lie down somewhere quiet and away from bright lights, this will help you to relax which will help with the process. Remember to wash your breasts prior to your next feed. Precautions for all products: Avoid contact with eyes. External use only. Discontinue use if irritation occurs and seek medical advice if necessary. Do not use on open skin. Keep away from children. Store below 20°C and keep away from heat and light.
Pure Bliss: Add 1-2 pipettes of “Pure Bliss” to a bowl of ice cold water; mix well to disperse. Submerge a clean maternity pad or flannel into the solution and then place against the perineum, making sure to cover the affected areas. Leave in place for up to 30 minutes. Alternatively, 2-3 pipettes of “Pure Bliss” can be added to a warm/cold “Sitz bath” or added to a jug of cold water to douche the perineal area.
Down Below: Ensure you wash your hands before you undertake perineal massage. Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. Consider making perineal massage part of your routine following your shower/bath as the warmth of the water will help with the blood supply to the area and surrounding tissues. Adopt a comfortable position, semi-sitting, one foot up on the toilet, bath or stool, or squatting against a wall. Place 1-2 drops of “Down Below” massage oil onto your fingers and apply to the outside of the perineum. Place your clean thumbs about 2 inches (5cm) into your vagina. Using your thumbs press downwards in the direction of your anus so that you can feel the stretch of the muscles surrounding the vagina and the vaginal tissues. Once you have this downward pressure, use your thumbs to sweep from side to side in a rhythmic “U” shape/hammock movement. Whilst massaging the perineum from the outside with your other fingers. When massaging apply steady pressure towards the anus. This may tingle, but should not hurt! This will also help you to recognise the sensation when your baby is ready to be born. Apply more oil to the outside of the perineum if required. The perineum will possible feel tight when you first start, but in time you will begin to feel a change and remember this should not hurt! If your partner is performing the massage, just follow the same instructions, but ask them to use their index fingers using the same “U” shape/hammock motion. It is important that you tell your partner how much pressure to apply. Do not undertake perineal massage if you are suffering from Herpes, Vaginal thrush or other known infections. Please contact your midwife or GP if you suspect any of these infections.
Cool It Mama: Simply hold the ‘Cool It Mama’ bottle at arms length and spray. If using on the face, please ensure to close your eyes.

This range is one of the most amazing and natural selections i have used yet (and I've used many!) I received this as a baby shower gift from a pregnant friend who has recommended them for a while. Its ideal as it's for me instead of the baby but works well with usome both! I started using the spritz, it smells really nice and it's ever so soothing to top it off! I then moved onto the down below oil (as this has always been a issue for me finding a suited one) and this is honesty the best one from many I have tried. I'm very pleased with this and have continued to buy more!
