He said, "you can’t use that rubbish on your hair!" and I said: "well, what are you going to do about it?" Hi, I’m Joan Kingsley, I was married to Philip Kingsley. In 2006, I was diagnosed with breast cancer which was quite startling and shocking. When I went for my radiotherapy treatments, I get this notice and high on the list was do not use shampoos with scent or colour. They recommended a — I won’t mention the name — leading baby shampoo. So I went home, and I challenged Philip. So Philip created No Scent No Colour Shampoo for me to use through my treatment. That was 2006 and it has since become a staple of the Philip Kingsley line of hair products. We donate a portion of the proceeds from the sales to Look Good Feel Better which is a wonderful charity that supports people going through cancer treatment. We also separately donate money to Mr Gui’s research fund at the Royal Marsden Hospital because Mr Gui was such an important part of my treatment and my healing.

I love this
Simply incredible. I have been using this combo for over 18 months now and I’m so grateful I found it. After months of hair loss, these product changed that. My hair has never felt as healthy, I no longer shed hair and my confidence is back!!

Gentle for chemo treatment hair
Fantastic, gentle products that still manage to leave my hair fresh and soft! Using these while receiving cold cap treatment to try and retain hair during chemo. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Mixed thoughts
I’ve got mixed thoughts about this set. I get an itchy scalp (not flaky) and dry skin in general after swimming, so I have to be quite careful with the products I use post swim. On one hand the shampoo seems quite gentle, but it doesn’t do anything to moisturise my scalp or sooth the itchy sensation particularly but it certainly doesn’t make the situation worse like some shampoos. Paired with my usual conditioner it works quite well, however the PK conditioner is a different matter. The conditioner is a very thin consistency when you apply, which doesn’t seem to really moisturise or nourish my hair that well. I have naturally thick wavy hair and does seem to knock the natural texture out of it though. Usually I wash my hair every other day but my hair looks quite greasy on the second day when using this shampoo and conditioner combined. I don’t think I would buy this again. I’ll stick with my usual Kerastase Specifique Bain Riche Dermo-Calm Shampoo and the matching conditioner, nourishing but lightweight.

So gentle
Advised to get this combination by Philip Kingsley team after having had chemo and losing a lot of hair. It's gentle and is just what I needed price great too
