Do you ever find yourself daydreaming or becoming distracted easily? Sometimes, it's great to have those little moments where we are in our own world, but generally our day-to-day schedules dictate that we need to be energetic, alert and productive, so we need to know how to increase productivity.

When we're tired, anxious, sad or nervous, it can have a huge impact on our mental states, causing us to overthink things and not get on with the task in hand. When this happens, we can miss deadlines, fall behind with work and forget important dates and events.

Fortunately, we have a few little tips on how to increase productivity so you feel refreshed and ready to take on the day.

5 Top Tips On How To Increase Productivity

Make the most out of your days by learning ways in which you can increase your productivity and be able to tackle any problem your day throws at you.

Get Enough Sleep

Surprisingly, the best way to increase productivity is actually to get a great night sleep. When you're tired, your brain can't function properly, your eyes struggle to stay open and all you can think of are your pyjamas and a comfy bed. Making sure to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night will leave you feeling refreshed and revived for the day after.

To help us sleep at night, we love to use a range of products which help us to drift off. The This Works Sleep Plus Hair Elixir is perfect for spritzing onto the hair, and then when you hit the pillow, you can smell relaxing hints of Lavender. Finally, spritz your pillow with the Cowshed Sleepy Cow Pillow Mist, which contains essential oils to calm your mind and help you drift off. If you do however really struggle to sleep at night, then make sure to go and see a doctor to discuss any underlying problems that could be causing this.

Buy A Notebook That You Love

Stick with us here. Writing your daily tasks and targets in a notebook at the beginning of your day will push you to make sure that you finish them all. Your mind will feel organised having written everything down that's whirling around in there, and then you'll be able to get on with your day. Buy yourself a new notebook and pen that you love, and the task will be one that you enjoy doing every morning.

Start Your Day Early

There is nothing worse than feeling like you are rushing around in the morning, trying to eat breakfast, put your bag together and get out of the door on time. Go to bed earlier and wake up earlier. This way, you will have more time in the morning to have a leisurely breakfast and make something you enjoy, while leaving the house looking flawless instead of frazzled.

Don't Eat Lunch In The Office

The same goes if you are revising for exams too. Make sure you spend half an hour away from your desks so you can get some fresh air and clear your head. This will then help you tackle the afternoon head on and will have given you some head-space away from work.

Do The Worst Task First

If you leave the worst task till the end, you'll want to do it even less, so try and do it at the beginning of the day. This will clear your schedule for the rest of the day so you can get on with other tasks that you actually enjoy doing. Plus, you'll feel super accomplished that you've already finished the most difficult task and it's not even midday...
