The Ordinary’s Retinol Serum 1% in Squalane is a water-free, multi-purpose solution formulated to reduce the appearance of pores, dark spots and fine lines, and improve the overall appearance of skin’s texture.
Enriched with a 1% concentration of the anti-ageing powerhouse retinol, which is a derivative of vitamin A, the lightweight serum delivers visible plumping and firming effects to your skin. Another key antioxidant ingredient, squalane, protects against UV damage and helps to minimise the risk of sun-induced age spots, leaving you with a more even-looking skin tone.

- Application: Apply a small amount to the face as part of your evening skincare regimen. Do not use with other retinoid treatments. Avoid unprotected solar exposure. Store in a cool, dry place.
- Please note: Retinoids can make the skin more sensitive to UV radiation. Sun protection is particularly important when using retinoids. This product must not be used in conjunction with other retinoids including retinol or retinoic acid. This product is not a treatment for acne. Acne-prone skin may experience a temporary increase in acne during the first few weeks of using any form of retinoid including those used in this formulation.

Works for me
I have used this product before but once I ran out for some reason I never purchased again. I decided to buy it again and remember why! I’m suffering with blemishes on my face again and using a few drops of this at night time and then using a really moisturising cream, it’s drying the spots out and they start looking better by the morning! Love this product, and also at a great price.

Love this retinol!
I've built up to using this 1% retinol over the last few months (starting with The Ordinary's weaker options) and really love it. The squalane is moisturising and not too oily, and I have noticed a visible difference to my skin with it looker clearer and improved early wrinkles!

Great budget retinal
I didnt want to pay a fortune for a retinal product so tried this, Its great, definitely see a difference in my skin after using, much more glowy

Good cheaper retinol version
Used to using Medik8. However have other ordinary products so thought I would give this a go. Light on skin. Haven’t broken out as I have with previous retinols.

Great hi strength retinol
I come back to this time and time again. I’ve been using it for about 3 years and it’s fantastic once you build your skin up to it. Number one retinol I’m certain it’s helped lines on my face.

Fabulous - but be careful!
I would highly recommend this product, I have been using it for around 4 weeks now and can see a noticeable difference in my skin already. I have had a purge in blemishes and have tobe careful not to use it every night (three times a week is perfect) but its great!

I love this retinol and use it 2 or 3 times a week. When I stop using it I notice a difference so I always end up repurchasing. If you’re a 30-something and starting to notice a difference in your skin, try this!
