Acnecide+Purifide

It depends! There are different types of Acnecide treatment available on Look Fantastic:

Acnecide 2.5% w/w Face Gel: A leave-on treatment for mild acne on the face. If you have sensitive skin or you’re just a little nervous about trying a Benzoyl Peroxide treatment, the 2.5% may be the place to start.

Acnecide 5% Face Gel: An alternative leave-on treatment with a higher percentage of active ingredient benzoyl peroxide.

Acnecide 5% Face Wash Gel: A wash-off treatment if you prefer to wash-off your treatment or you’re worried your skin may become irritated by a leave-on version.

Always read the label before use.

When you first start using Acnecide Face Gel it’s recommended that for the first three days, you only use the treatment once a day in the evening before going to bed and leave it on overnight. Or you can start by using this product on alternate days to minimise risk of irritation and then gradually increase the frequency up to twice a day if tolerated. This ensures that you are getting your skin used to Benzoyl Peroxide.

If after three days it is well tolerated, you can then increase Acnecide to twice daily if using 2.5% or 5%. Make sure that you are applying a moisturiser after the treatment product to prevent dryness from occurring.

How to use:

1. Wash the affected area with a mild cosmetic cleanser. Gently pat skin dry.

2. Apply the gel in a thin layer to cover the affected skin areas. NOTE: applying more product will not clear acne any quicker, but may lead to skin irritation!

3. You may follow application of the treatment with a moisturiser, which can help to reduce any irritation. Avoid strong sun exposure while treating your spots, a moisturiser with SPF for the day time may be useful.

4. If your skin becomes irritated, you can reduce the frequency of application until your skin recovers. If your skin does not recover, please see a doctor or pharmacists for more advice.

When you first use Acnecide Wash Gel, apply it once daily on alternate days, in the evening before going to bed. You may feel mild burning and notice slight reddening and peeling of the skin during the first few days. If you have more severe redness, burning, irritation and peeling, then you should stop treatment and let your skin go back to normal before restarting treatment.

Acnecide Wash Gel should be used once or twice daily over the affected skin areas.

1. Wet the area to be treated.

2. Wash hands before use and place a small amount of Acnecide Wash Gel onto the hands to wash the affected area.

3. Contact time with the skin should be 1 to 2 minutes.

4. Thoroughly rinse with water and dry the skin.

5. After use, wash hands thoroughly and replace cap tightly

If you’re more prone to emerging spots (these are red bumps that can be painful) then Fast Fix are for you.

If you’re more prone to white heads then Skin Restore are better for you.

Super important! Not only should you be using spf daily to keep your skin protected from harmful UV rays, but acne-prone skin needs extra protection, especially if you are using products containing Benzoyl Peroxide, the active ingredient in Acnecide, as it can increase your sensitivity to the sun.
