The bareMinerals Hydrating Gel Cream is a multi-purpose formula that performs as a skin tint, moisturiser and a sunscreen. Forming a part of the Complexion Rescue collection, the hydrating gel-cream provides sheer to light coverage, uplifting the skin with a fresh, dewy glow.
The non-comedogenic formula provides 24-hour hydration with hyaluronic acid, helping to minimise the look and feel of dryness, while visibly blurring imperfections. Topped with SPF 30 protection, the gel-cream provides defence against harmful UV rays.

- Application: Applying with your fingertips: Dot onto your cheeks, forehead, chin and nose, then blend outwards. Applying with the bareMinerals Smoothing Face Brush: Squeeze a pearl-sized amount onto the brush and blend. For more coverage, continue to layer with the brush.

My Go-To all year around
I can suffer with dry skin and this product is much more forgiving than many others, and when my skin isn’t dry it just looks flawless with this. I’m not a fan of higher coverage foundations as it just doesn’t suit me, I like a more natural look and this is perfect. I wear Opal in the winter and lean more toward Vanilla in the summer if I am managing to get out a bit to catch some colour. In between I mix the two shades. I have a tinted moisturiser from Bobbi Brown too which I like but I still keep coming back to BareMinerals.

At first when I applied this product I thought it really accented my dry skin. So if you’re planning on using it make sure to exfoliate and have your moisturizer fully absorbed before applying. Nor would I recommend wearing sunscreen underneath. The product gives a really nice finish like you’re wearing an all over face highlighter and your skin looks glowy. I bought the shade buttercream for my light Asian skin (Chanel N20 for reference) and it’s more on the light medium side, but still looks good. So if you’re quite light maybe go for a lighter color. I also wish the color was slightly more yellow/eggshell. I would recommend this product if you have minimal skin concerns and want a very sheer coverage that improves your natural skin tone and can be worn alone as a base.

I love this product so much! I am on my second tube! If you like minimal or natural coverage and a glow to the skin, then you might like this. You can build the coverage up a little bit but it will still be sheer. I use it for the glow it gives rather than the coverage.

Not worth the money
Firstly, I love a good tinted moisturiser and find a good one extremely hard to find. I’ve used them all from Chanel to NYX. I wanted the Nars one but it was sold out in my shade everywhere so I thought I’d try this as I was pulled in by the wording ‘complexion rescue’ and ‘hydrating gel cream’. For background I have normal skin, a good skin routine and I like a dewy finish. I always use serum, moisturiser and a hydrating primer underneath whatever I am wearing. Now on to the review: I’ve used this quite a few times now, taking away the primer, using a brush, using as instructed with clean fingers and every single time it makes my skin so dry that it itches, it collects around areas such as my nose and lips and generally looks powdery and almost curdled. It gives a slight colour which I like so the colour match was perfect. To conclude I do not recommend this at all, and from personal experience you can get far better tinted moisturisers on the market, especially for the price.

Great product, very light coverage. I use as a base under concealer and powder foundation when I have breakouts and when my skin is clearer I use this alone. I would not recommend using alone if you need a lot of coverage however it is a great base for you to begin building on.
