Designed for curly or coily hair types that are extremely dehydrated and dry, Color Wow’s Extra Strength Dream Coat offers the same anti-humidity benefits, now with powerful moisturising and waterproofing technology.
The heat-activated anti-frizz spray locks in moisture and blocks out humidity thanks to invisible flex-elastic polymers that keep straight blow-dried styles looking sleek and glossy. The formula infuses brittle, porous strands with moisture, while waterproof technology helps to minimise the appearance of frizz and flyaways for up to three shampoos.
Safe for keratin-treated hair.
- When to Use: After shampooing, conditioning and towel-drying hair.
- Application: Divide hair into sections. Spray each section liberally and comb through. Blow-dry each section using tension. Dryer heat is required to activate. If using a straightener, heat should not exceed 190°C. Use every 3-4 shampoos.

Super smooth hair
I brought this as I have natural 4C hair that is prone to frizzing. I apply it to my washed and damp hair. The instructions say your hair needs to be 70% dry. I find this hard to judge but went for what I thought this meant. I sectioned my hair and sprayed it with this Color Wow liberally then used my hair dryer with the comb attachment as to active it requires heat and tension. As I was drying my hair I could feel that my hair was being coated in a silky like layer. After drying my hair it felt silky smooth and soft. I do find that once I put oils in my hair this changes the effectiveness of the protective layer. I have to oil my hair having afro hair. This is great on it's own but less effective if you add anything else in your hair.

Doesn’t work
I tried this after my hairdresser recommended it and I got the extra strength because that’s what she used, upon first impressions it seemed to work so I bought a bottle of it but when I went to use it I find that it leaves my hair dry and slightly brittle, it’s certainly not shiny or soft and it definitely doesn’t keep it straight. I tried following all of the instructions - spraying plenty on each section, blow drying it straight using tension and then setting with hair irons but it simply doesn’t work. I’d say the only thing it’s good for is keeping flyaways at bay but other than that save your money, don’t waste it on this rubbish, there will be plenty of cheaper products on the market that actually work better than this! It seems to be yet another fad product that hairdressers can use and get decent results but the average user can’t get the same results! Pointless!

I had really high hopes for this product but it has been a bit of a let down. I probably expected too much, but with the amount of money paid for the product I did expect to like it more. The slightest amount of moisture still makes it frizzy.

Super soft hair
I made sure my hair was around 70% dry before fully saturating my hair with this Color Wow extra strength. I used the comb attachment when blow drying my hair as for this to work you need heat and tension. As I was blow drying my hair I could feel the coating which made my hair feel really smooth and glossy. I have natural 4C hair which is prone to frizz, that's why I brought the extra strength. Whilst my hair did frizz a few hours after blow drying it, it was not as frizzy as usual, plus I did not straighten it with my straightners or hot comb Overall it's made a big difference to my hair. It's much softer, shinier and glossy after using this Color Wow Extra strength. I'll definitely keep it in my hair care routine.
