Once your skin has been damaged by the sun, it's important to find products that work to nourish and restore the condition of your skin, and to protect your vulnerable skin from further sun damage.
Leading skin experts heavily recommend skincare containing ingredients that encourage skin cell renewal, which can be any of the following ingredients: Vitamin A, retinol, niacinamide, azelaic acid and Vitamin C. These ingredients kickstart cell renewal, which is important for sun-damaged skin to become healthier. These ingredients also contribute to reducing the visible signs of sun damage, whether this is skin pigmentation, sunburn or even fine lines and wrinkles that can be caused by sun exposure.
There's a wide variety of products and formulas to treat sun-damaged skin, from face masks and skin peels to lotions and serums. Hydration is key for sun-damaged skin to recover, so hydrating creams, cleansers and gels are strongly recommended to ensure your skin avoids dryness. Sun-damaged skin still needs SPF protection, so investing in an SPF that suits your skin type is important to protect your vulnerable skin cells from further harsh UV ray damage.
