An At-Home Facial With Antipodes
Giving your skin a really deep cleanse and massage can be tricky at home without the right products or know-how. Luckily, Antipodes Ambassador Rebecca Goodyear is on hand to talk us through the ideal facial routine so we can a gorgeous complexion without needing to always visit the facialist.
Your Personalised Facial With Antipodes
As with all experiences to indulge the mind and senses, ambience is key. There are a few simple steps to creating the perfect spa at home experience, which will rival even the most premium salon, and all in the comfort of your own home.
Take time to make a relaxing environment in your own home. If you're taking a bath, try scattering rose petals or small flowers in it, and light some scented aromatherapy candles such as the Mio Liquid Yoga Candle. - If you're using a face mask, or perhaps you're lucky enough to have someone to massage you, make your bed comfortable, cover with a deluxe towel, spray with room and linen spray, and again light those candles!
- You may also wish to use an essential oil burner to intensify the fragrance.
- Always make sure your home is warm enough, as you know there’s nothing worse than a cold treatment room.
- A large, comfortable organic cotton towelling robe and a pair of slippers are the finishing touches, and perhaps a glass of wine!

My personal choice is the Juliet Brightening Gel Cleanser, ideal for normal, oily or dull skin. I love the apple and cardamom fragrance. The key ingredients of this product are Vinanza Grape which is the antioxidant that brings the brightening properties to the table, and Manuka Honey Active 20+, which has powerful antioxidant properties but is also a humectant, bringing water to the skin.

A thick , rich and creamy texture; to me, this product smells like a Terry’s Chocolate Orange; good enough to eat! The exfoliating action comes from Jojoba Beads – no harm to the environment from microbeads – just Jojoba Beads. They have soft edges and are gentle on the skin, and won’t aggravate any sensitivity or damage like rough scrub ingredients such as sugar, salts and nuts. There’s also healing Calendula Oil, and brightening Carrot Seed Extract and Apricot Oil to give skin “the glow”.
3. Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Face Mask 75ml

People are really starting to learn the benefits of honey for both internal and external uses. Manuka Honey’s antibacterial properties mean this mask has a deep cleansing action. The mask also contains the key ingredient of the whole Antipodes range, Avocado Oil. Avocado Oil is a wonderful anti-ageing ingredient which has a really positive effect on collagen production in the skin and is rich in Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant which is often referred to as the anti-ageing vitamin. The cream is a creamy white when you apply it but dries clear, leaving a shiny sheer layer on your face to rinse away. I love the scent of Vanilla and Mandarin; as with all Antipodes products I’ve tried the natural fragrance is simply divine. I recommend this product for all skin types, but particularly those with acne/prone to breakouts and also sensitive types.

After 15 minutes, remove the mask with a hot face cloth and add your hydrating layers. I change my serum depending on my skin’s needs and often the time of year. Here’s my quick guide to the serums and oils available from Antipodes:

When applying eye cream, always do so with your ring finger as this one has the gentlest touch. Tap gently working from the inside to the outside and repeat until the product is absorbed.
