Originally created in 2012 with Julia Roberts at its healm, La Vie Est Belle has become an iconic scent; not just for Lancôme, but for the world of fragrance.
Created by a duo of dream perfumers: Dominique Ropion and Anna Flipo, the perfume created waves upon its launch, and continues to be a best-selling scent all over the world.
The perfumers new challenge came when Lancôme requested they follow on from this original and legendary scent, with a fragrance that transcends the boundaries of happiness. Literally. Queue La Vie Est Belle L’Éclat.
How could I rethink the iconic addiction of La vie est belle? With a combination of creamy and solar notes. I substituted the original gourmet accord with a soft, potent vanilla pod. Enfolded in the comfortable notes of sandalwood, it contributes to creating a delicious cream of orange blossom – Dominique Ropion
Lancôme’s La Vie Est Belle L’Éclat
Now, 2 years on from when the concept first came into play, Lancôme’s La Vie Est Belle L’Éclat is finally here and is just as beautiful as its original, and slightly more grown-up.
The inspiration behind the perfume is quite simply, the expression of happiness. The scent is warm, radiant and fresh, and evokes “how happiness is magnified the more widely it is shared.”
Created with Orange Blossom Absolute, which forms the base of the scent, the perfume then opens into a heart of Rose, Jasmine and a Floral Bouquet. It then settles into a beautiful Mandarin Accord, that’s complemented by Freesia and a Petal Accord.
The bottle is also as unique and beautiful as the clear elixir inside. Creating an optical effect, the glass has been cut in such a way that it reflects a multitude of light, which creates a dazzling and beautifully sensual effect.
