Established in 1965 by Loris Azzaro – a Tunisian-born Sicilian designer – the Azzaro house first specialised in haute couture that embodied Mediterranean luxury. The brand became synonymous with a glamorous style that made fans of actresses and icons Brigitte Bardot and Sophia Loren. Fast forward to the mid-70s, and Azzaro took on another challenge: perfumery. Marking the occasion with his first fragrance for women in 1975, Azzaro launched the sweet and musky Azzaro Couture perfume, which took inspiration from a work by Dali. The success of Azzaro issued forth the arrival of the woody fragrance Azzaro Pour Homme – a men’s favourite even to this day.
