Does my vulva look normal?

Spoiler Alert – There is no normal. Like the rest of our bodies the vulva is individual, but the images that we see of the vulva are most commonly represented through sources like pornography which wasn’t designed to be an educational tool or representative of all sex and bodies. So the problem is that although we know it’s not what all bodies look like, without a better frame of reference then that’s what we compare ourselves against. PS– When we say vulva we are referring to the external female genitals. Often people colloquially (and anatomically incorrectly) describe it as their vagina, but that’s the internal canal connecting the uterus and cervix to the outside of the body.
