I’ve always been wedded to GHD, it was the first high end branded straightener I ever bought (over 15 years ago). I’ve upgraded to newer models but my hair is less tolerant of heat nowadays meaning I haven’t regularly straightened my hair for the best part of 5 years as it always felt dry and sometimes frazzled on the ends (no matter what heat protection product I used). For context, my hair is fine (non existent ponytail fine) and incredibly fragile from years of bleaching. I have tried learning how to blow dry my hair straight but can never getting it looking as smooth and sleek as they do in the salon, so the majority of the time my hair lives in a non existent ponytail/ bun. I decided enough was enough, there must be a straightener out there that won’t continuously frazzle my hair. After much researching and concluding that I still wanted a high end brand, I took a leap and broke off my long term relationship with GHD. The key thing my research taught me is that adjustable heat settings are key (something all of my GHDs have lacked). For full disclosure, I’ve only used my new T3 straighteners ONCE but I’m already hooked. There are 3 different settings that allow you to fully tailor to your specific hair needs. On the first use you program it to your requirements (for me that’s coloured, fine, mid length hair), then away you go! It heats up in no time at all and glided through my hair with total ease (I didn’t even properly section my hair and it has still turned out great). My hair is now smooth, shiny and most importantly soft to touch! I really didn’t think these straighteners were going to do very much but I have been pleasantly surprised.
