Molton Brown products were first made in the basement of the founders’ Caroline Burstein and Michael Collis’ Mayfair salon in 1971. Whilst mixing products made from botanicals, they attracted an exclusive celebrity clientele who were desperate to stock up on the products the pair could create.
In 1984, the Molton Brown brand expanded and started to supply spas with its signature Orange Grove Collection. Involved in this was one of the UK’s first-ever lines of upscale handwashes.
