Salicylic Acid Toners

Whether you want to banish blemishes, unclog pores, brighten your complexion, or treat acne, a salicylic acid toner is the holy-grail product you need in your skincare routine.

Derived from willow bark, salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that's oil-soluble - meaning it's able to penetrate beneath your skin to dissolve debris, remove build-up and exfoliate your skin. And it means that after all of those nasties have been removed from your complexion, your other skincare products are able to absorb better too.

Salicylic acid toners are best used in the evenings as they can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Apply to freshly-cleansed skin with a reusable cotton pad, then follow with your favourite serums and moisturisers. Be sure not to use retinol or other active exfoliating ingredients on the same day or you risk over-exfoliating your skin causing irritation.
