Though fun, a summer of sun, experimenting with hair dye and heat styling to try out the new TikTok trend can take it's toll on your hair. Come autumn, our locks can be left damaged, dry and in need of some serious TLC. To revitalise your hair ready for the new season, we have rounded up the best hair care heroes that will repair, revive and add radiance to every strand and created easy to follow steps on how to use them.

Shu Uemura Art Of Hair Essence Absolue

Before you shampoo, use the Shu Uemura Art of Hair Essence Absolue to protect the fibres against dryness, frizz and UV damage. Apply 3-4 pumps onto your hair when dry and comb through from root to tip, leave for 5 minutes and then shampoo off. The nourishing formula is infused with rich camellia oil that offers intense nutrition, which not only protects the hair but also leaves it easier to detangle, shinier and softer to the touch. Alternatively, the Essence can also be used overnight for a more intense conditioning treatment.

Cleanse & Hydrate

Pureology Hydrate Shampoo

If your hair has been recently coloured or is just in need of some serious moisture, we strongly recommend the Pureology Hydrate Shampoo. Suitable for all hair types, the luxurious and creamy shampoo is formulated with Sage, Green Tea and Jojoba which hydrates both the hair and scalp to restore moisture, comfort and shine. The targeted shampoo also helps to lock in your colour to keep locks looking vibrant, maintaining your perfect shade. Using Pureology's patented Antifade Complex®, the shampoo also contains a UV Filter, boosted by Vitamin E to protect against environmental aggressors that could contribute to future damage. Finished off with Patchouli, Bergamot and Lavender, the product will also leave your hair with an aromatic, irresistible smell.

Matrix Total Results Brass Off Brunette Neutralising Blue Shampoo for Lightened Brunette Hair

If you're looking to lock in your new colour to last for longer than just the summer whilst bringing back life to limp locks, use the Brass Off Brunette Neutralising Blue Shampoo by Matrix. The shampoo neutralises any brassy tones in the hair using colour-depositing blue-violet pigments. Either use the shampoo as you usually would, lathering into the hair before rinsing off, or leave for up to three minutes for a more intense toning treatment. For the best results, start using the Neutralising Shampoo 2-3 weeks after colouring your hair, alternating it with your Pureology Hydrate Shampoo every other treatment.

Similarly, for blonde hair, use the Matrix Total Results So Silver Purple Shampoo for Toning Blondes, Greys and Silvers to remove unwanted brassy tones in your coloured blonde hair. The formula uses the same principle of neutralisation to keep your blonde looking cool, and your hair nourished and soft.

Matrix Biolage HydraSource Conditioner

Follow your chosen shampoo with the Matrix Biolage HydraSource Conditioner. Designed to bring back life and bounce to dry hair, the conditioner intensely moisturises using Aloe extracts and Passion Fruit for a natural and nourishing treatment. Simply massage the conditioner into the lengths of your shampooed hair, leave on for 1-3 minutes and then rinse out to reveal softer, silky strands.

L'Oréal Professionnel Serié Expert Absolut Repair Gold Mask

If you're hair seems beyond the point of return, swap in the L'Oréal Professionnel Serié Expert Absolut Repair Gold Mask instead of your conditioner after shampooing. Massage the formula into your hair and leave on for 3-5 minutes before rinsing out to reveal sleek and hydrated hair. Harnessing the restoring powers of Gold Quinoa and Protein, the masque replenishes moisture, elasticity, strength and shine.

Redken One United Multi-Benefit Treatment

For the ultimate and most convenient way to revitalise your hair, use the Redken One United Multi-Benefit Treatment. Offering 25 benefits in one easy to use spray, the lightweight blend deeply conditions the hair to provide moisture, protect, repair, strengthen, add shine and make hair more manageable, to name only a few advantages. The treatment can be used one of four ways:

  1. Alone: Apply after cleansing to refresh hair between washes.
  2. With a rinse-out treatment: Apply after cleansing and before rinse-out treatment.
  3. With a leave-in treatment: Layered after cleansing.
  4. With a styling product: Apply before or after styling.

Replenish & Smooth

Kérastase Elixir Ultime L'Original Hair Oil

Either to be used as a hair primer before styling, or as a finisher to smooth and control fly-aways or frizz, this Elixir Ultime L'Original Hair Oil by Kérastase is a leave-in hair oil that enhances shine to replenish dull hair. The oil helps to seal the look of split ends and smooth hair fibres whilst offering protection against heat damage to prevent against further damage. The Violet Leaf, Freesia and Mandarin give the oil a floral scent that clings to your locks all day.
