If your Christmas Day is full of glam or you prefer to keep it pyjamas only, make sure your makeup adds some sparkle to the occasion. Whether you love a bright bold lip or want to add some drama to your eyes, we’ve put together some of our favourite makeup ideas for Christmas Day to help you out.

A bold red lip

Step 1: Embrace the festivities with a classic bold red lip and a sharp winged liner. Start by priming your skin with the Revlon Photoready Rose Glow Hydrating Primerto give yourself an illuminated complexion. Apply the Chantecaille Future Skin Oil-Free Foundationwith adjustable coverage on top of this to create a flawless base.

Step 2: To achieve the perfectliner, take theToo Faced Better Than Sex Easy Glide Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner and create a winged shape on your outer corner. Add some mascara and your favourite wispy lashes to create an elegant look.

Step 3: Now for the lip! Firstly, take the NARS Cosmetics Powerfall Collection Velvet Matte Penciland slightly overline your lips to create the perfect pout. Next, take your favourite red lipstick such as the Bobbi Brown Luxe Shine Intense in shade Red Stiletto and apply this over your lips. There you have it! The perfect red lip for Christmas that will last all day long.

Dark and smoky

Step 1: Add some drama this Christmas with a dark, bold smoky eye. This look requires you to start with your eyes to avoid fallout from dark shadows ruining your base. Take the Surratt Expressioniste Brow Pomade and run it through your brows to add some definition. Next, prime your eyes with your favourite concealer and leave to dry down so it becomes tacky – this way the shadows will stick more!

Step 2: Take the PIXI Natural Beauty Eye Reflections Palette and use the lighter shades to build up definition in your crease. Once you’re happy, apply the dark brown shade followed by the black onto the centre of your lid and buff the shadows into each other until you create your desired smoky eye.

Step 3: Finish the look off with a full coverage foundation such as MAC Studio Fix Fluid and a nude lip for a fierce, bold look.

Icy blue eyes

Step 1: Make a statement this Christmas with asubtle, icy blue look.Start by priming your face with an illuminating primer such as theBECCA Backlight Priming Perfector to give you a lit-from-within glow. Next, apply your favourite medium coverage foundation such as NARS Sheer Glow to give you the ultimate dewy complexion.

Step 2: Before you get creative, setyour lids with a dusting of Laura Mercier Powder to really make your shadows pop! Nowit’s time for the fun – take the Revolution Smoke & Mirrors Pro Colour Focus Palette or your favourite light blue shadow and buff it into your crease and inner corner. Next, sweep a darker blue shadeunder your lash line, add a shimmer onto your lid and apply your favourite lashes.

Step 3: Finish off the look with a nude lip gloss such as the NYX Butter Gloss in shade Creme Brûlée and a spritz of the NARS Monoï Body Glow for the ultimate snow queen look.
