This winter we’ve got a date with ITV2 every evening at 9pm. With Love Island back in full swing and the drama of newcomer Rebecca entering the villa, we’re committed and our head isn’t turning from the TV. We’re obsessed with all things Love Island, and of course what beauty products the islanders are using to stay camera ready, day and night.
We sat down with everyone’s favourite ex council worker-come-islander, Shaughna to see how she goes from beach beauty to date night glam in 15 minutes when that all important text comes through.
Step 1: Base
Shaughna starts her ‘glam but easy’ look with the NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Full Coverage Foundation. Using a sponge she blends the foundation across her whole face thoroughly.
On top of her perfectly blended base, Shaughna adds the Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer underneath her eyes and on top of Gary (sorry ladies, there's no new islander, we're talking about the blemish on her chin). Shaughna's key rule for concealer, apply anywhere that the sun would hit: the forehead, under the eyes, down the nose and the chin. Blend out the concealer using a sponge for even coverage: ‘Blend, blend, blend. If you don’t blend, don’t go!’.
Step 2: Contour
Using the L'Oreal Paris Matte Bronzing Powder- Back To Bronze Shaughna dusts the areas of her face where shade would fall, including the hairline, temples, under the cheekbone, the sides of her nose and don't forget the jawline, 'you want to be chisled like Zeus!' and of course... BLEND!
Apply a blush, for that healthy rosy look, to the apples of the cheeks. Shaughna uses the L'Oreal Life's a Peach Blush Powder to add a splash of colour to her look.
For the ultimate glow up, going from 'Rudolph to J'lo', Shaughna applies the L'Oreal Paris Glow Mon Amour Liquid Highlighting Drops. Add a drop to the back of your hand, then using the finger, dab along the top of the cheekbone up to the temples, on the tip of the nose and your cupids bow.
Step 3: Brows
Using the L'Oréal Paris Unbelievabrow Long-Lasting Brow Gel, or 'lip gloss for the brow' Shaughna applies the gel to her eyebrows brushing them upwards and into shape. No need to lay this on factor 50, Shaughna's brow beauty hack: 'just be gentle'.
Step 4: Eyes
To completely glam up her date night look, Shaughna uses the NYX Professional Makeup Ultimate Shadow Palette starting at the outside of the eye with a darker shade and blending it inwards 'there's no such thing as too much blending!'. Work the eye shadow all the way over the lid using an eye shadow brush. Apply a lighter colour to the middle of the eyelid, again blending inward. Using the brush, add a light line of colour just under the eye for a defined effect. Shaughna uses the lighter colours in the palette to highlight the top of her brow bone to really open up the eye and add shimmer.
To complete her eye look, Shaughna uses the L'Oreal Paris Paradise Waterproof Mascara. She applies this just to the bottom lashes for an open, fluttering look.
Step 5: Lips
Last but certainly not least, lips! Shaughna uses the NYX Professional Makeup Suede Matte Lip Liner in the shades Tea and Cookies and Los Angeles to perfect her pout. She outlines the edges of the lips in true professional style without even looking, then applies the NYX Professional Makeup Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm all over the lips for a glossy finish. Her must have beauty product in the villa, Shaughna loves this Lip Cream for keeping her lips glossy but also soft and moisturised.
Step 6: Set
Shaughna completes her look with the NYX Professional Makeup Setting Spray - Dewy Finish. She sprays the setting spray freely across the whole face to lock in her look and make her look glowy and ready for a date!
