Vintage Queen: Get the Look

It is 64 years today since Elizabeth was crowned Queen of England. To celebrate her Coronation Day, we're throwing it back to when it all began and feeling inspired by the incredible vintage makeup looks from the young Elizabeth on the day she took the throne.

On her Coronation Day, the Queen looked the picture of elegance. We adore the classic 1950s makeup of a red lip and defined brows. Replicate the look with our favourite products.

3. L'Oréal Paris Brow Artist Genius Brow Kit - Light Medium 3.5g

£9.99

Fairly thick, well groomed brows were definitely the signature of the era. Whilst shapes were less sharp than a lot of modern tastes, a brush through with little bit of powder to fill in any sparse areas was a must. We love keeping our brows in shape with the L'Oréal Paris Brow Artist Genius Kit but if you still prefer a cream finish, try out the Ardell Pro Brow Sculpting Pomade for a touch of vintage Hollywood glamour.

4. Clinique Lash Power Feathering Mascara 6g

The pared back, classic look doesn't need strong eye makeup. Let your flawless skin and beautiful lips do the talking instead and stick to fluttery, full lashes. For a vintage look, try out the Clinique Lash Power Feathering Mascara. It gives a beautifully feathery, fluttery finish without overloading the lashes. For a longterm boost to your lashes, go for Illamasqua's Masquara Gain; with walnut extract it gently dyes your lashes so that you can bat your lashes makeup free after a few weeks!

Major fan of scented candles, Make Up brushes and Highlighter. I’m always on the hunt for those Holy Grail products and my dressing table is covered in more beauty products than I like to admit. As an adopted Northerner originally from Brighton, I spend most my days wondering what all this rain is about. My hair isn’t grateful for the move. Currently loving: NIOD Photography Fluid
