Eid makeup tutorial with Sabina Hannan

Ready to go full glam with your makeup look this Eid? Discover beauty icon and influencer Sabina Hannan’s tutorial on how to achieve this show-stopping, shimmery look.

Step one

Begin by shaping your brows with the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer. Using a flat brush, sharpen and outline your brows to define their shape, and cover up any stray hairs, before blending out the concealer with a small fluffy brush.

Step two

Now it’s time to prime your eyelids. Using the Sensual Skin Enhancer, take a generous amount on a flat brush and apply all over the lids to prime and prepare them for shadow. Blend out with a damp beauty blender for a seamless application.

Step three

It’s important to always start a bold eye makeup look with a transition shade. Using the Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Palette, take the shade Boundaries and apply all over the lids with a fluffy brush, buffing out in circular motions.

Step four

Next, take the shade End Game and apply it to the outer corners of your lids, starting in the outer corner and bringing it inwards with gentle circular motions.

If your shadow has gone slightly astray at this point, don’t panic! Simply use the shade Blur from the same palette to gently buff out the edges and remove any harsh lines.

Step five

Now the exciting part – time for a pop of shimmer! Taking the shade Dreamwear from the Urban Decay palette, use your finger to sweep the shade onto the main portion of your lids. Using your finger rather than a brush will give you a much more pigmented, rich application.

Step six

Take the shimmer to the next level with the Stila Liquid Glow Eyeshadow in the shade Bronze Girl. Apply with the wand and then blend out gently using your fingers for a beautiful bold glow.

Step seven

The key to achieving a seamless base is to use a good quality primer. Prep your skin for foundation with the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, applying all over the face using your hands.

Step eight

For a glowy, fresh base, take the Anastasia Beverly Hills Luminous Foundation, buffing the formula in gently all over the face using a beauty blender. Then, to cover up imperfections, dark circles or uneven skin tone, take the Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra Longwear Concealer and apply using a beauty blender

Top tip: to boost the luminosity and diminish dark circles, top up the inner and outer corners of your under-eyes with a slightly lighter concealer shade, providing a brightening, lifting effect.

Step nine

Set your concealer and prevent it from creasing using the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting PowderTake a generous amount on your beauty blender and gently pat under your eyes.

Step ten

Now it’s time to contour and bronze the skin for a sunkissed glow. Take the Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Contour and apply to key areas including the cheekbones, the forehead, and the bridge of the nose. Blend out using medium fluffy brush

Boost your glow with the Benefit Hoola Caramel Matte Bronzing Powder. Apply using a fluffy brush over your cheekbones to set and enhance your contour.

Step eleven

For a new take on blush, use the NARS Air Matte Lip Colour in the shade Pin Up and mix it with a minimal amount of foundation using the back of your hand. With your fingertips, apply to the apples of your cheeks, and where you would naturally blush.

Step twelve

Now it’s time to make your eyes pop. Take the Eylure Sabina Girl Boss Lashes and apply them to your top lash line, following the packet instructions. Then pick up your Urban Decay Naked Reloaded palette again and apply the shades Boundaries and End Game to your lower lash line. Give the lower lashes some definition with the NARS Climax Mascara

Step fourteen

Nothing completes a glam makeup look like a bold red lip. Start by lining your lips with the M.A.C Lip Pencil in the shade Burgundy. Over-line your lips subtly at the cupids bow for a fuller look. Top off your pout with the Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade 206, applying all over the lips using the wand.

As someone with an affinity for all things beauty, discovering fantastic new products is my not-so-secret obsession. Over the years I've tried and tested a mountains worth of creams, serums and cleansers, finding some of my favourite 'holy-grail' products along the way. However, I'm always on the lookout for more ways to nourish my hair, perfect my dewy base, or enhance my skincare routine. Working as a beauty blogger for over 3 years, I've been lucky enough to collaborate personally with lots of amazing beauty brands including Christian Dior, The Body Shop and Dermalogica. I've used the Dermalogica special cleansing gel religiously since I first got it and their products are some of my ultimate skincare faves. When it comes to cosmetics, NARS Sheer Glow foundation is definitely my go-to - I live for a light, glowy base!
