If last year's Christmas lockdown has left you a little out of practise when it comes to prepping for party season, you're definitely in the right place. Here to refresh your memory just in time for the seasonal celebrations and Christmas parties, watch Jess Evans @_makeupbyjessevansx show us her go-to glam routine for if you're going 'out out'!

Step 1: Tan

We all know that night out prep starts the night before (tanning Thursdays are definitely a thing). Jess starts by bronzing her skin with the Vita Liberata Body Blur Instant HD Skin Finish in Latte Dark, using a tanning mitt to ensure an even and streak-free glow.

Step 2: Hydrate

Jess keeps her complexion smooth, hydrated and ready for makeup using the Ameliorate Transforming Facial Serum. Alcohol-free, the serum is a great option for sensitive skin and uses AHAs, bio honey acid and an LaH6 hydration complex to buff away dead skin cells and intensely moisturise the skin, leaving it softer, more radiant and more even in texture.

Step 3: Contour

To achieve that ultra-sculpted look, Jess uses the Too Faced Born This Way Concealer in maple to contour her eye and cheek bone areas, applying the formula with a concealer brush to the side of the nose and across the eye area for a darkened effect. She applies the Benefit Hula Bronzer to her eyelids to add depth and drama to her night out look. Jess completes her party-ready eye look with a liquid eyeliner, creating a statement cat eye using a pointed brush.

Step 4: Glow

To give her skin a natural glow from beneath her foundation, Jess mixes the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base with a liquid highlighter for added radiance and a subtle shimmer. She applies mixture using her fingers staring at the middle of the face and working out.

Step 5: Base

For a seamless and flawless base, Jess uses a makeup sponge to apply the NARS Cosmetics Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation in shade Barcelona all over her face and neck. Using a brush, Jess contours her face, including below the cheekbones and the side of the forehead, again with the Too Faced Born This Way Concealer in golden beige.

To hold her flawless face in place, Jess uses her makeup sponge to apply the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder, gently blending it in to the skin using pressing motions. The best-selling powder helps to eliminate unwanted shine and prolong the life of your makeup; a must for if you're out for the long run.

She finishes off her base by adding a healthy pinch of colour using the Laura Mercier Blush Colour Infusion Blusher in Strawberry, applying it to the apples of her cheeks and blending upward for a lifted finish.

Step 6: Set

A step you definitely shouldn't skip before a night out, Jess knows to lock her look in using a high-quality setting spray. She opts for the Illamasqua Hydra Setting Spray to both hold her makeup in place and hydrate her skin to create a gorgeous, dewy effect.

Step 7: Gloss

Jess finishes her look by perfecting her pout with the NYX Professional Makeup Butter Gloss in Fortune Cookie. The high-shine lip gloss covers the lips, leaving them looking fuller and more even in colour.
