The Ultimate Fenty Beauty Review

Wanting to try Fenty Beauty, but not sure where to start? Look no further.

Fenty Beauty are our Brand of the Month in June, with new deals, exclusive items, and discounts dropping every week, and I was lucky enough to be sent some Fenty items to play with (perks of the job!). From Fenty Skin products, to lesser-known Fenty Fragrance, to the classics like their staple foundations, I was able to create a full face of Fenty Beauty products and wore it all day to give you a full, unfiltered review.

Context About Me

Because every review needs to give some background, it’s worth noting before we begin:

  • I have oily, fairly sensitive skin
  • I generally use “drugstore” makeup with a more budget price range
  • Day-to-day I use tinted moisturiser or powder foundations, but wear Fenty Beauty’s Pro Filt'r foundation for events that require something a little more extra

Now that you understand a little about me and my makeup preferences, let’s dive into the full face of Fenty Beauty review.

Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor Invisible Broad Spectrum Mineral SPF 30 Sunscreen Moisturiser Review

Enriched with SPF, in a sleek bottle with a pretty pink tint, this moisturiser works to protect your skin from harmful UV rays while hydrating and nourishing skin. It also promises to improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles, pores, and dark spots. The bottle is large and refillable, and the moisturiser smells great.

While I would not normally reach for a moisturiser as a first step in a makeup routine, the formula of this particular moisturiser is thick and silky, perfect for adding to a routine to help foundation glide on smoothly and keep skin hydrated and protected all day long.

Perfect for any skincare collection, ideal for dry skin.

Fenty Beauty Soft'Lit Naturally Luminous Longwear Foundation Review

As previously stated, I currently use the Pro Filt'R Soft Matte Longwear Foundation for days that require a more full-glam approach, so knew that this foundation had big shoes to fill. The original Fenty Beauty foundation launch literally changed the makeup industry, forcing other brands to be diversity-led, including their entire customer base and every skin tone from their initial launch. Soft'Lit not only continues the legacy of Pro Filt’r, dare I say it improves it.

Lightweight yet with a medium coverage, with a hydrating, naturally luminous finish, this foundation truly gives a “your skin but better” look. Fenty also aimed to create a foundation that resists oxidisation, and I believe they have achieved this! Having fair skin, oxidised foundations really do show up for me, but I felt this foundation stayed true to its shade all day long. It was so comfortable to wear, feeling more similar to a tinted moisturiser than a foundation. A “glow in a bottle” product perfect for summer occasions, I can definitely see myself reaching for this for future occasions.

Fenty Beauty We're Even Hydrating Longwear Concealer Review

With a huge range of 50 shades, and a formula that promises transfer-proof, crease-proof, long lasting coverage, this concealer needed to perform well. Until this point, I assumed I would not be impressed by a premium concealer, as my drugstore concealers have never failed me. How incorrect I was.

From the classic Fenty Beauty hexagonal bottle, to the angled applicator that makes it so easy to precisely apply, this concealer refused to crease in 7 hours of wear. It brightened and covered my dark circles and blemishes without appearing cakey, and felt comfortable all day.

Fenty Beauty Match Stix Contour Skinstick Review

Before now, I had never used a cream contour before. I always thought cream products weren’t for me as I tend to prefer powders and thought they may be difficult to use comparatively. Again, I was wrong!

These contour sticks blend beautifully, especially when warmed up on the back of the hand before applying. I was concerned that it would lift the foundation beneath, but all the other products stayed situated as I blended.

Easy to use and far more travel-friendly than a powder, this cream contour is another complexion winner from Fenty Beauty!

Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Instant Setting + Blotting Powder Review

Whoever designed the packaging for this powder truly understands the Fenty Beauty customer. I have never used a powder that is so easy to open with long nails. You can feel the quality in the packaging, the compact mirror, and the included sponge.

Personally, I’d prefer to use a powder like this specifically to blot throughout the day rather than to set my whole face. If you have dry or normal skin, this would be ideal as a generic setting powder, but the packaging lends itself so perfectly to be kept in your handbag for top-ups throughout the day.

The powder feels lightweight and truly is translucent, and did help to blur my pores. Extra points for being featured during the Super Bowl half time show.

Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb All Over Diamond Veil Review

fenty fragrance review

If you want a highlighter straight out of 2016, look no further. I was completely wowed by this product. I used it on my cheekbones, but once I saw the sparkle I couldn’t get enough, so also ended up using it as a shimmer on my lid! I can’t wait for the summer to use it mixed with my body lotion for an all-over shimmer.

We caught up with Fenty Beauty to hear how this highlighter differs from others on the market:

Diamond Bomb highlighter features a unique jelly-powder formula giving radiance reimagined in one quick swiple. It contains superfine, ultra-reflective shimmer particles for a glow like no other. The shade How Many Carats is a true universal shade as it is made with a clear base to suit all skin tones. Pro tip – mix with Fenty Skin Body Butta and massage over décolletage, shoulders and legs for the perfect body glow!

Fenty Beauty You Mist Setting Spray Review

This was a product I was more apprehensive about. Not only am I very picky with my setting sprays, but an underperforming setting spray can also immediately ruin the makeup you just worked so hard to put on. I’m glad to report that this setting spray really held down the fort. While you can feel its presence after it dries, it works. Hard.

My top tip for oily skin is to add a second layer of powder over the top of your setting spray, and after I did this, I knew my makeup was not going to budge all day. Makeup feels locked in while the mist remains lightweight. It is also a joy to spritz, as the high-quality atomiser makes for an ultra-fine spray.

Fenty Beauty said:

Fenty Beauty’s You Mist Makeup-Extending Setting Spray offers more than just longevity; it hydrates and refreshes your skin, making it a must-have for any makeup enthusiast. Use the setting spray both before and after makeup application for an extra boost of hydration and longevity. Using the superfine mist after skincare creates the perfect ‘tacky’ base for foundation to adhere to.

Fenty Beauty Hella Thicc Volumising Mascara Review

Rihanna said: “Hella Thicc’s formula gives my lashes that buildable, voluptuous volume with every swipe, and the brush is so precise that you can get into every little lash to create different looks. This formula was made to make any and every lash Thicc!”

I agree with Rihanna on all of the above! The mascara was so easy to apply as every lash was coated with the tapered brush, and it did not flake or clump together.

Gloss Bomb Stix Review

A lip balm lover to my core, lip colours are not usually something I reach for, instead usually opting for a balm that goes undercover as a gloss. Not anymore. The Gloss Bomb Stix feel like a balm but look like a lipstick, with a pretty, glossy finish. Super comfortable and easy to wear, Gloss Bomb Stix are going to become a permanent addition to my makeup bag.

We asked the team at Fenty Beauty about their Gloss Bomb Stix:

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Stix is the one if you are looking for colour and care. The creamy, easy-to-apply formula feels luxuriously hydrating thanks to added Shea Butter giving you all-day comfort and wear. Gloss Bomb Stix can even be dabbed on the cheeks as a cream blush for a cohesive, glowing look.

Fenty Eau de Parfum Review

Full disclosure: I didn’t know Fenty had a perfume until I received this one.

I’m now obsessed with it.

The best way to describe this scent is that it smells like a wealthy lady. It is musky and rich and spicy, truly timeless and able to be worn anywhere. The amber and gold bottle continues this motif, standing out as a moody, minimal bottle amongst the more flashy, feminine designs of women’s fragrance.

It will become a permanent addition to my fragrance rotation, for sure.

Rihanna said “I made a fragrance for myself and am now sharing it with you”, and Fenty Fragrance Eau De Parfum truly expresses itself uniquely on each wearer. Fenty Fragrance is sexy, warm, spicy, and sweet all at the same time, perfect for layering day into night, and the superfine mist radiates beautifully when applied to the centre chest.

Fenty Skin Cherry Dub Pore Purify’r Gel Cleanser Review

I was so impressed by the packaging of this cleanser. I’ve never owned a cleanser that comes in a glass bottle, so you can truly feel the premium nature of Fenty Skin the moment you unbox it – and it looks great on a shelf.

The gel works into a thick lather that feels great on skin, and my skin was not left feeling stripped. It just felt clean.

It is worth noting, however, that the cherry scent is fairly strong in this cleanser, so if you have sensitive skin, I would recommend using the Total Cleans'R Remove-It-All Cleanser for a less perfumed product that still works to gently clean skin and remove impurities.

What Would I Re-Purchase?

While I enjoyed using all the cosmetics, I would certainly re-purchase the foundation, concealer, Gloss Bomb Stix, and perfume. These specific products truly shone, showcasing the best Fenty has to offer. From flawless, long-wearing base products, to unique lip colours, to perfumes that simply cannot be missed, Fenty Beauty continues to shine as an icon of the beauty community.
