This autumn, contouring has been replaced with rosy cheeks and perfect peach lips to accentuate the skin’s natural beauty and enhance the barefaced look. We have all the tips you need to perfect the “English Rose” Make Up look.
How to get the English Rose Make Up look
Perfect your skin with great skincare.
This is a look that works best with a great base, so we would always advise starting right from your skincare routine. Find products which work with your skin type (we have a whole host of articles on this if you're struggling) and soothe any skin concerns you might have.
Apply a luminous base.
The English Rose look is all about gorgeous, radiant skin, so a lightweight, reflective base is brilliant. We love both the Shiseido Radiant Lifting Foundation and the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum. Apply with a damp Make Up sponge for a light, fresh and flawless finish. If you need, apply a touch of Concealer to any ares that need a little extra coverage, but be sure to blend well with the sponge to avoid things looking too heavy.
Add a pop of colour to your cheeks.
This look is the perfect chance to try out some of the gorgeous pink Blushes around, for that rosy cheeked glow. We love using liquid or cream Blushes for that soft finish. Some favourites are the Benefit Benetint and the Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blushes. dab onto the apples of the cheeks and blend well with a stippling brush.
Define your eyes.
The English Rose look often has thick, luscious lashes for wide open eyes. Think of Snow White and her doe eyes! To get the look, add a touch of black Eyeliner just along the lash line and finish with mascara. For an extra boost, we love to apply Benefit's They're Real Primer before our usual Mascara. Or you could cheat with a pair of false lashes like the Eyelure Texture Lashes.
Get a peachy pout.
Plump, pillowy peach lips are the finishing touch for this look. We love Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick in Peach Cosy and the Stila Convertible Colour in Peach Blossom.
