This Cerave SA smoothing cleanser has been a miracle. For months I have suffered with stubborn, comedonal acne and have tried every product out there. I recently came across this product and after 1 use I noticed a difference! The closed comedones on my cheeks and forehead got smaller with each wash and after 5 days it had completely banished them! Good, but not for constant use
I bought this as I thought it would be a more affordable version of the Cosrx low pH cleanser, as both are salicylic acid cleansers. I get breakouts constantly around my jaw and chin, and thought this would help. It was effective at first, but after a few weeks my skin became red, irritated and sore whenever I used it. I think used occasionally (for those with acne), it can help, but not every day or for every cleanse. I've switched to the CeraVe Hydrating cleanser and that has helped clear my acne immensely, as well as the calmed the redness and irritation. Would recommend to use during summer, or after exercising, or if your skin does not become easily sensitised. Would not recommend if you have irritated skin or inflamed breakouts.
