The Clear and Defend Plus Facial Wash is a refreshing formula that helps to cleanse the skin, encouraging a clarified, more radiant look. Neutrogena’s face wash is powered by a 4% AHA/PHA blend that helps to even the skin tone and soothe the appearance of blemishes.
A 2% concentration of glycolic acid seeks to minimise the appearance of discolouration caused by blemishes. Gluconolactone, a resurfacing agent, aims to refine the skin, while salicylic acid helps to remove excess sebum. Discover a balanced-looking complexion with this revitalising face wash.
- Application: Wet face. Apply to hands, add water and massage face gently. Rinse thoroughly. Start with one application daily, then increase to two if desired. If dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or every other day.
- Please Note: Avoid contact with eyes. Contains an AHA that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and sunburn. Use a sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.
- Glycolic Acid: A natural exfoliant found in unripe grapes and sugar beets
- Gluconolactone: A polyhydroxy acid that helps to even the skin tone
- Salicylic Acid: Oil-soluble exfoliant that helps clear blocked pores and refines texture

Great face wash!
I really noticed less breakouts using this. I did keep it to once a day as suggested on the instructions due to it being a bit drying on my skin. I think with a bit more use I may increase to twice. To really reap the benefits. Although a little drying it’s nothing my normal moisturiser couldn’t keep up with! #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

Great product for drying out spots but keeping skin fresh
I was quite skeptical about trying the product at first as usually, facial washes dry my skin- however i was NOT disappointed when i tried the Clear + Defend. As someone who has a few breakouts, i’ve found this has been so helpful to getting my skin clear and fresh- i had a hormonal breakout on my chin and after using this product, it completely dried my spots out and left my skin looking beautiful! Allergic reaction after trying!
Tried out this product twice, the first time my skin felt dry the next day and itchy, didn’t put together that it could have been this face wash, tried it again the following evening and the next morning my face was red swollen especially under the eyes itchy and so sore. It took about a week of simple 0% moisturiser applied multiple times per day for my skin to repair and be back to usual. Did bring out a few spots that were being stubborn though #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

Clean feeling but not effective
I have used this product for the last few weeks religiously, twice a day. As someone who is prone to breakouts especially at points in my menstrual cycle, I found this face wash to be effective in cleaning. It was slightly drying at first but my skin got used to it. It’s great that it is non greasy, however, I didn’t notice a difference in managing my breakouts or healing them. #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

Excellent
The product has a velvety texture that feels luxurious. It absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving a greasy residue, making it suitable for both day and night use. A little goes a long way, so it should last for a long time. After two weeks of use, I noticed a significant improvement in my skin’s hydration levels and overall glow. Great Value, Keeps Skin Clear
For context, I have oily skin and have been using this product every other morning, I was not using any retinol or other exfoliating products whilst testing this. The formulation is clear and on the thicker side. I use a facial brush to apply the product, and the product does foam up but not as much as other products I have used in the past. It has no scent at all. My face does feel cleansed after using, but like with other facial washes, I have to moisturise immediately or my skin becomes very dry. Definitely seemed to keep my skin clear, haven't had any breakouts leading up to my period, which I usually get! For the price especially, it seems to be a great product and one I will likely buy when my current wash runs out. #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

Nice product, not quite right for me
The product has a nice consistency and immediately after washing my skin feels clean but not too dry, unfortunately I have noticed more spots since using the product which is a shame because it’s otherwise very nice. I’m not sure I can recommend based on my experience but it may work on someone else’s skin. #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

Face cleanser
I’ve been using this product for a few weeks now and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in the appearance of blackheads and white heads. At the start I was using this product daily/every other day but sound it was slightly drying to the skin so now I use two times a week to prevent this. So definitely an effective product but like a lot of acne cosmetics it can leave the skin feeling very dry. #HomeTesterClubFreeSample
