If you're passionate about beauty, you will, no doubt, be familiar with Sol de Janeiro's iconic body care range, in particular, the Bum Bum Cream. Known for their 'summer in a bottle' scents their products are an absolute must-have for the hotter months.

Keen to further cover ourselves in the delicious and tropical scents of pistachio and caramel, we tested out the full Sol de Janeiro haircare range to see if it could work the same softening magic on our strands as the creams do on the skin.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Joia Shampoo

Award-winning and sulfate-free, this shampoo helps to cleanse, repair and strengthen the hair, bringing back shine and softness. Made with nourishing Brazil nut a Sol Seal Technology™, the sweet scented shampoo fuses split ends back together, reducing frizz and flyaways.

Setting me off on a very good start, this shampoo lived up to the brand's reputation. The light-feeling formula lathered up when massaged into my hair, meaning only a little was needed for each wash. Scented with the same iconic fragrance as their Bum Bum Cream, the shampoo transformed my shower into a luxurious, tropical experience without irritating my sensitive scalp and leaving my hair feeling clean and smelling amazing.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Joia Conditioner

Again infused with the iconic Brazilian Bum Bum Cream scent, the Brazilian Joia Conditioner is a highly-hydrating formula that leaves locks looking and smelling their best. Blended with the Sol Seal Technology as well as plant-based keratin micro-capsules, the conditioner works in harmony with the Brazilian Joia Shampoo to reduce the appearance of split ends and encourage a glossier, healthier finish.

After slightly too much heat styling, this conditioner has definitely helped bring my strands back to life after just a couple of uses. Further locking in the irresistible scents of almond and caramel to my locks, the creamy feeling formula massages into the lengths of the hair quickly, detangling as it absorbs. Although the conditioner feels rich and luxurious on application, it didn't leave any heavy feeling on my usually flat hair and rinsed out to give a noticeably shinier and healthier finish (with that amazing smell that lingers all day!). Available in a handy travel size, this will definitely be travelling with me this summer.

Sol de Janeiro Triple Brazilian Butter Hair Repair Treatment

Designed to offer an intense boost of hydration to your hair, the Triple Brazilian Butter Hair Repair Treatment is perfect for those with chemical or heat damage. Made with three moisture-rich Brazilian butters, the mask works in just 10 minutes to repair and smoothen strands back to a healthier state.

A must-have for your summer self-care evenings, this mask enhanced my haircare ritual no questions asked. The creamy formula spread easily to coat my hair from root to tip, and only needed to be left on for 10 minutes; perfect for squeezing in some self-care on a busy evening. Giving off the sweet scents of the brand's Cheirosa ’62 spray, I felt like I was sat in my own tropical paradise as the mask got to work, which lasted even after rinsing out. After drying, my hair felt and looked softer than it ever has before without feeling greasy or weighed down.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Glossy Nourishing Anti-Frizz Hair Oil

The latest in the brand's best-selling range, the Anti-Frizz Hair Oil does exactly as promised, fighting frizz for up to 72 hours. Suitable for all hair types, the nourishing and repairing oil also works to add shine and protect against heat damage from styling. Blended with three Brazilian oils, the formula is rich in antioxidants and essential vitamins that add moisture and promote healthier hair, scented with the iconic Cheirosa 62 scent.

A little of this nourishing oil went a very long way. Just a little of this potent formula was needed on my fine hair to add shine (and of course, that amazing smell). Being someone who heat dries and straightens their hair on a daily basis, this was definitely a strand saver for me - my hair was noticeably less frizzy after styling and looked and felt softer and shinier.
