The Ordinary’s Retinol Serum 1% in Squalane is a water-free, multi-purpose solution formulated to reduce the appearance of pores, dark spots and fine lines, and improve the overall appearance of skin’s texture.
Enriched with a 1% concentration of the anti-ageing powerhouse retinol, which is a derivative of vitamin A, the lightweight serum delivers visible plumping and firming effects to your skin. Another key antioxidant ingredient, squalane, protects against UV damage and helps to minimise the risk of sun-induced age spots, leaving you with a more even-looking skin tone.

- When to Use: After water-based serums but before heavier treatments.
- Application: Apply a small amount to the face as part of your evening skincare regimen. Do not use with other retinoid treatments. Avoid unprotected solar exposure. Store in a cool, dry place.
- Please note: Retinoids can make the skin more sensitive to UV radiation. Sun protection is particularly important when using retinoids. This product must not be used in conjunction with other retinoids including retinol or retinoic acid. This product is not a treatment for acne. Acne-prone skin may experience a temporary increase in acne during the first few weeks of using any form of retinoid including those used in this formulation.

Great budget retinol
I am a long term user of retinols & this one doesn’t disappoint. It is very oily so best applied half an hour before bed to allow it to sink in. I haven’t found it irritating in anyway. For such a reasonable price this is a great retinol.

I’ve been using this for a few months now. I use it daily on my neck and chest, then once a week on my face. My neck had quite a few creases and I had a line on my forehead. I’m not kidding the line on my head has completely gone as well as those on my chest and my neck is visibly better! I find it quite strong on my face so I use a tiny bit and face mask the next day to take away any dryness

Im sooo excited to see what this baby can do! Retinol is a godsend for hydration and preventing signs of aging! I’ve just applied it before bed with a vitamin c serum after and a peptide moisturiser to finish. The retinol is soooo hydrating my skins feeling silky smooth and super soft! I’ve not long since turned 31 so I’m starting to get slight lines on my forehead as I’ve an annoying habit of always having my eyebrows raised 😂 hoping this will help smooth those out as It no doubt will. The ordinary products are just incredible you can’t go wrong the cost is so low for such an amazing product & the results are always wonderful. Would highly recommend even during my first use as a retinol is a MUST HAVE for your skin care routine!

This retinol is in squalene. The squalene facial oil is divine! My skin will be velvety and soft, without causing any irritation. It's a very pleasant feeling. I use it in the evening, of course, and I only apply this product, I don't use any other serum at the same time. I apply it on my neck too and on my hands.
