Super effective, speedy, gentle cleansing
I used to be a fan of a certain, very well known cloth cleansing regime but felt that it was rather a faff and took ages to come away clean so ended up being a bit abrasive on my face, plus generated lots of drying out muslins and laundry (not practical when travelling, as you need to keep them clean and change them every day or so – I lost lots leaving the on radiators in hotels etc…). It took me a while to come around to another method - particularly this seemingly watery and unimpressive formula... Then I got a sample of SVR Physiopure Micellar Water and tried it out. I was very surprised that 80% or more of my make up came off by swiping just one cotton pad. By the end of the second pad it was coming away totally clean - sometimes I need another to get away stubborn mascara or dramatic eye-makeup. I generally prefer to rinse off any formula and then tone for pH balance as I don’t like the idea of leaving something so high-tech on my face, but it really does do what it claims to in that it removes make-up and impurities with precision and very gently. My skin has been noticeably clearer and brighter and I also take less time pottering in the bathroom of an evening thanks to this, which my other half has noticed. Can’t compare to other micellar waters, but hear this particular one is the “gold standard” so to speak. May try the acne-specific one for hormonal break-out zone when premenstrual. Forgot to say that also like avoiding using harsh, hard London water on my face and getting all wet and cold (in winter months). It makes cleansing a little less of a hassle.
