Does AMELIORATE Transforming Body Lotion really help with Keratosis Pilaris?

Yes. AMELIORATE was created specifically to improve the appearance of Keratosis Pilaris (KP) often known as “chicken skin” or “strawberry skin.” KP is caused by a build-up of keratin in the hair follicles, which leads to rough, bumpy texture and redness.

Our award-winning Transforming Body Lotion, the first product we developed, is clinically proven and dermatologically tested to smooth away KP bumps, soften rough patches and deeply hydrate for up to 24 hours. Powered by our AHAs, it gently resurfaces while replenishing moisture, helping skin look smoother over time.

While there’s no permanent cure for KP, consistent use of AMELIORATE’s Transforming Range has been shown to visibly improve skin texture and comfort, giving you softer, smoother skin.

Can AMELIORATE Transforming Body Lotion be used during pregnancy?

Yes. AMELIORATE Body Lotion has undergone a full independent safety assessment and is considered safe to use during pregnancy.

Why do you recommend using a sunscreen after using AMELIORATE Body Lotion?

Each product has a dual-action formula, and the AMELIORATE Body Lotion hydrates your skin, but also exfoliates thanks to the addition of an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA). These powerful actives help to polish and renew your skin, but can also increase its sensitivity to the sun, that’s why we recommend always following up with an SPF after use.


Are AMELIORATE products tested on animals?

No. Animal testing of cosmetics is now illegal in Europe and has been for some time. Ingredients designed for cosmetics use only also come under this ban so thankfully this horrible practice is becoming a thing of the past. All the testing performed on AMELIORATE products (and we did a lot!) were performed on people both for safety and efficacy.

AMELIORATE was created by Annette Luck, who developed the brand after years of struggling to find an effective solution for her family’s dry, bumpy skin and keratosis pilaris. What began as a targeted treatment evolved into a full skincare system, underpinned by science and trusted by dermatologists.
