London Fashion Week is always one of the most highly anticipated and exciting events in the fashion calendar. With the Autumn/Winter collections from the biggest designers being sent down the catwalk it’s all eyes on the beauty used to compliment each look.
This year comes a flurry of diverse and captivating styles featuring the new shade of the season, grey, partnered with creamy peaches and reds to invites brightness into the winter months.
In this blog post we take a look into the beauty looks that we can’t wait to try.
Red Lips + Smudged Kohl Eyes
The classic collaboration of a red lip with simple slick eyeliner has taken a grungy turn. From the likes of Holly Fulton’s graphic print catwalk comes a beauty style effortless to pull off.
Use an Invisible Lipliner to ensure colour doesn’t bleed on your lips.
Use a soft kohl black pencil with a sponge brush like this Sue Devitt one to smudge and blend your lines
Bold Colours + Highlighted Eyes
Focus was all on the eyes with the House of Holland show during London Fashion Week. Boasting bright colours muted down with a lashing of highlighter from the inside of your eye. This look enhances not only the colour of your eyes but the overall shape of them, creating a bigger and bolder look.
Use the highlighter after you’ve applied the bold colour, this will leave it with some colour blending as well as making it take over the brightness of the eyeshadow.
Dark Lips + Graphic Eyeliner
Dark, berry stained lips have been around for a few seasons now but this year London Fashion Week have taken the attention somewhat off the lips and teamed this sultry look with bold, minx like eyeliner. Taking note from Moschino’s Cheap & Chic AW13 show we fell in love with the near black lips and bold liner on display down the catwalk.
Depending on your preference use a deep red/berry shade or go for a full on rich purple shade that will really add drama to your look.
With the graphic eyeliner go out of your comfort zone, whether it be a new shape like squared off edges or taking that cat’s flick just a bit further, the more graphic the better.
