Our Favourite Autumn-Winter ’16 Beauty Trends

Our Favourite Autumn-Winter ’16 Beauty Trends

Before we start discovering all the trends that will come from the new Spring-Summer ’17 shows, we thought we’d take a look back at the Autumn-Winter ’16 Beauty trends that we fell in love with earlier this year. From Dior to Victoria Beckham, these are the catwalk beauty looks to try out right now.

Autumn Beauty Trends to Try

  1. Dior Vampy Burgundy Lips

    Vampy Lips like Dior

Deep purples, rich plums and stained wines are the lip colours of the season.

We fell in love with the glossy, vampy lips in Dior’s Autumn catwalk shows and it is so easy to translate into everyday life. We love rocking the look with pared back eye makeup and a classic white shirt.

The bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in ‘Lead the Way’ is a beautiful rich purple plum that is still totally wearable with its silky finish.

  2. Vintage Headscarves like Dolce and Gabbana

The ultra-femme, retro vibes at Dolce and Gabbana always make us swoon and this trend is no different.

A silky scarf tied in and under the hair looks sweetly retro and is the ideal way to cover up day old roots. Pair with a simple black polo neck and ballet flats for a classic, chic look. Just make sure to add a bit of grit and texture to your hair before pinning the scarf in place.

The SHOW Beauty Premiere Working Texture Spray gives hair amazing grip and a luxurious feel.

  3. Glitter Eyeshadow Burberru

    Glitter Lids like Burberry

We love the unexpected pairing of glitter with a minimal face of makeup.

Burberry’s unexpected sparkle is a really fun look to play with this Autumn, especially with Christmas party season around the corner. Just keep your skin natural and fresh to keep it from looking too much.

Use the Stila Magnificent Metals Eyeshadow in ‘Comex Platinum gives a striking metallic glitter finish that you can apply as subtly or as full on as you like.

  4. Diane Von Furstenburg 70s Curls

Glamour Curls like Diane Von Furstenburg

This look is all about 70s glamour and we love it. Centre partings and glossy waves were everywhere on the DVF catwalk.

We think it will be our party look for the season; it looks so good with wrap dresses and slinky jumpsuits! Time to get the curling wand out.

    Get the look:

The Diva Professional Styling 4x Vari-Waver is the clever and speedy way to get those 70s style waves in a flash. Wave away and then run your fingers through to loosen everything up.

  5. Minimal skin like McQueen

Everyone was talking about the embellished hair at McQueen show, but we fell in love with the simple, minimal makeup paired with it.

Slightly smudged eyes, natural brows and skin that looks naturally flawless; it is the everyday, cool-girl makeup look of the season.

    Get the look:

Makeup artist Lucia Pieroni used the RMS Master Mixer Highlighter on all the models for that almost moonlit, natural look.

  6. Vitcoria Beckham Slicked Back Ponytail

    Sleek Ponytails like Victoria Beckham

This is a look that Victoria herself has been rocking for a while, so it is no surprise when her show was filled with models rocking a simple, slicked back ponytail.

To keep it from looking too preppy, the key is to secure the pony low at the nape of the neck, smoothing everything back. It is a scandi dream.

    Get the look:

Perfect your sleek blow dry with the Moroccanoil Ceramic Paddle Brush to make sure your hair is smooth and shiny.

  7. Disco Makeup like Charlotte Olympia

A little bit 70s, a little bit 20s and totally glamorous, the Charlotte Olympia beauty looks are so perfect for Autumn.

Glossy lips, rich eyeshadows and clean skin are the hallmarks of the look, and they work for day and night.

    Get the look:

Use the Stila Perfect Me, Perfect Hue Eye & Cheek Palette for blend of rich reds, coppers and warm browns that work so well for the 70s vibes.

Make Up Specialist

Major fan of scented candles, Make Up brushes and Highlighter. I’m always on the hunt for those Holy Grail products and my dressing table is covered in more beauty products than I like to admit. As an adopted Northerner originally from Brighton, I spend most my days wondering what all this rain is about. My hair isn’t grateful for the move. Currently loving: NIOD Photography Fluid
